Penge West is another two-platform, DfT category E station, formerly owned by the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway

The original station was known as Penge Lane, but was reopened by the LBSCR on 1st July 1863. This was the same day that the LCDR opened its own Penge Lane station on its line to London Victoria. Following the 1923 Grouping of railway companies, the two stations were renamed Penge West and Penge East by the Southern Railway on 9th July 1923.

Bickley is another DfT category D station in the London Borough of Bromley.

Bickley station is on the Chatham Main Line, some 11 miles 76 chains (19.2 km) down the line from London Victoria. Much further south on the same line is Shepherds Well; this is on the Dover Branch and is some 71 miles 60 chains (115.5 km) from London Victoria.

The Dutchflyer service lets passengers travel from any UK railway station served by Greater Anglia to Harwich International (formerly Parkeston Quay), and then cross the North Sea by Stena Line ferry. Although there are no direct trains from there, it is likely that tickets for this service can be bought at Hatfield Peverel station.

The station buildings at Bingham (which are still extant) were designed by Thomas Chambers Hine (1813 – 1899), who was an architect based in Nottingham. He was also responsible for the master's lodge and ticket office building at Elton and Orston (formerly Elton) station, although none of them survived by 2008.

Up until the fairly recent resignalling of the Western end of the North Wales Coast line, one of the platforms at Abergele was on a loop, allowing trains to overtake in that direction. There is still such facility in the down direction at Rhyl.
