Wilmslow is where the Styal and Crewe to Man-Picc lines diverge. They do not converge again until Salde Lane Junction. The next stop after Slade Lane Jn is Manchester Piccadilly.
Until its closure in 2018 Liverpool Lime Street signal box had one of the last two Westinghouse miniature lever frames on the national network. The last surviving example can be found in the signal box at Maidstone East.
That Wellington station was not the one in Somerset, as the railway company extending the line would have been "strapped for cash" as they say up North......
