The station buffet at Sherborne appeared in a list of "highly commended" station cafes published in The Guardian in 2009. The main list (of the best station cafes) featured The Waterside Seafood Restaurant at Kyle of Lochalsh station.
A camping coach was positioned here by the Scottish Region from 1956 to 1964, for the last two years a Pullman camping coach was used. Spean Bridge station also had a camping coach between 1961 and 1969.
There are no facilities to purchase tickets at Falls of Cruachan station and passengers must buy one in advance or from the guard on the train. The same restriction applies to the adjoining station at Taynuilt.
