Ipswich - suffix, sorry, Suffolk's, county town. :D

(btw Hertford North is on the Hertford Loop - a loop line surely: "a railway branch line that branches from the trunk line and then rejoins it later on")

Crewe - another location where passenger trains used to change locos from electric to diesel (and vice versa) before the whole route was electrified

Plaistow.

Plaistow is the site of the factory in which sugar cane is made into Lyle's Golden Syrup. Another product which could be made from this is caster sugar. Doncaster has nothing to do with caster sugar, other than the fact that its name contains "caster"

Do I get the prize for most tenuous link between places?

Emerson Park - not only contains "Park" in the name, but is another example of the only intermediate station on a branch line in Greater London.

West ham

Another station served by both the DLR and normal train services. Plus the "ham" connection. And if you want, "Lewis" is a surname that is common in Wales, which is in the west of Britain.
