Helensburgh Central is another terminus that once had four platforms, but now only has three.

Helensburgh Central is situated 24 miles and 31 chains from Glasgow Queen Street, measured via Singer and Maryhill.

Prior to 1967, Singer had six Eastward-facing private terminal platforms for special workers' trains carrying employees of the vast sewing machine factory there to and from work. The special workers' trains originated from a number of stations in the Glasgow area, including Airdrie.

The 2015-vintage station at Ebbw Vale Town is located on a different site to the town's two previously closed stations, Ebbw Vale High Level and Ebbw Vale Low Level.

Morecambe is another modern-day station now on a different site to its town's pre-Grouping predecessors at Morecambe Promenade and Morecambe Euston Road (although, to be fair, MCM is not that far from where the LNWR's erstwhile Euston Road used to be)

Class 323 EMUs call at Aston operating the Cross-City route between Litchfield and Redditch. Class 323s can also been seen with Northern Trains, operating services in the North West of England such as between Manchester Piccadilly and Hadfield.

East of Hadfield all former Woodhead line stations have closed except for Penistone which is served by Northern's Sheffield-Huddersfield service.
