Falkirk High initially opened as Falkirk, but was renamed to avoid confusion for other stations in the town, such as Falkirk Grahamstone.

Class 313s primarily operate the Seaford line (though as of writing, for not much longer!), where the Southern-branded trains formerly operated North London line services with London Overground, such as between Richmond and Stratford.

Surbiton station featured in series one episode four of our friend Tim Dunn's excellent TV programme The Architecture the Railways Built in May 2020. Knaresborough station featured in series four episode four of the same programme last month.

Following closure of the Woodhead route and Sheffield Victoria the Huddersfield-Sheffield vin Penistone service originally reversed at Nunnery Junction to reach Sheffield Midland but was later routed via Barnsley.

Barnsley station is next to the town's bus station. Because of this, some sources name it Barnsley Interchange. This is also the case at Meadowhall, though neither of them officially carry the suffix in their Network Rail name.

Altrincham is another Category C2 station managed by Northern which has bus/tram interchange.

Slaithwaite is also a station where a platform has been built on a site which was formerly used for goods. At Slaithwaite it was the the site of the old goods yard; at Marsden it was the former Up Goods Loop.
