Are you sure it was in the currently open St Ives station in Cornwall where he was the Station Master, as Banbury is an extremely long distance away from Cornwall.Mr Frank Hobley was the Station Master at St Ives between 1912 and 1918, having previously held the same post at Banbury.
There are many possibilities for why the stationmaster here could have moved. Yes the distance is long, but the GWR was a huge company, even pre-grouping, and both stations were run by them, so it's not impossible that said Mr Hobley could have moved within the company, even back then. Are you sure it was in the currently open St Ives station in Cornwall where he was the Station Master, as Banbury is an extremely long distance away from Cornwall.
The closed St Ives station in Huntingdonshire was opened on 17th August 1847 by the St Ives and Cambridge Railway and was closed on 5th October 1970.

The quiz should be recommenced from this posting.Mr Frank Hobley was the Station Master at St Ives between 1912 and 1918, having previously held the same post at Banbury.
