Surbiton station building is considered one of the finest examples of an art deco facade on Britain's railway network. The station was rebuilt in 1937 and the designer responsible for the building was James Robb Scott, whose most famous work is undoubtedly the Victory Arch at Waterloo station. Less well-known, however, is the fact that he also designed buildings for Exmouth station in the 1920s (which, if I remember correctly, no longer stand).
