When first built, Teignmouth station was situated between two tunnels, although both of them were opened out between 1881 and 1884. Another station built between two tunnels is Bangor (Gwynedd), although is this case both of the tunnels are still extant.

Cuddington has won a number of awards in the Cheshire Best Kept Stations Competition for its gardens, which are maintained by local volunteers. It won the Community Award in 2014, recognising the continual support of the local villagers at this country railway station. No award was made in 2020, but Handforth (which also has a "Friends" organisation) won the same award in 2019.
