In February 2014 Thorne North station was accredited with Secure Station status from the Secure Stations Scheme for providing a safe environment for both passengers and staff. In January 2019, East Croydon Station was accredited under this scheme.

OBSERVATION.....That station was also previously opened after a closure period in 1987. The original station was opened by the Buckinghamshire Railway as far back as 1850.

Ah, point taken ... I hadn't realised that it wasn't a new station.

Anyway, moving on from Yalding:
A camping coach was positioned here by the Southern Region from 1962 to 1967. From 1963 onwards it was a Pullman camping coach, which became available as the Kent coast lines were electrified. Most of them went to existing sites, although some went to new sites, such as Birchington-on-Sea on the Chatham Main Line.

ORR statistics suggest Arundel saw 105,824 entries & exits by season ticket holders in the 2019/20 analysis period.
This is essentially the same as the 105,834 season ticket holders using Mills Hill (Manchester).
