Herne Hill is where the LCDR's Metropolitan Extensions split, one going to Victoria and the other to Blackfriars and further north. The former only has one station en-route, but the latter has two, one of which is Loughborough Junction.

Dilton Marsh station was the subject of a well-loved poem "Dilton Marsh Halt" by the poet John Betjeman. Other stations included in the verses are Westbury and Warminster.

Perhaps this should help explain my puzzlement over the latest post :?:

It's a follow on from Cannon Street, as there's a J D Wetherspoon pub in that station as well. However, I'm happy to have it disallowed if it's not appropriate, so we'll carry on with Nairn in this way:

The station building at Muirend is also a Grade B Listed Building.
