Bere Alston requires switching ends to go to the next stop, something that is also done at Bourne End.

When originally opened, Bourne End was on the Wycombe Railway's line between Maidenhead and Oxford.
Sections of the original route are now closed, but one part of the Wycombe Railway line still in use passes through Princes Risborough.

Manchester Piccadilly is also a major station with a little-served station on the approach.

St Pancras International is renowned for the Eurostar terminus, but when it was first opened in 1994, trains used to terminate at Waterloo International (the platforms now reopened with the main line termini) until 2007.

According to ORR statistics, in 2017/18 London Waterloo had the highest number of entries and exits of any station on the National Rail network.
At the other end of the spectrum, with the least users in 2017/18 was British Steel Redcar.

The 3 letter code for Hattersley is HTY. The only other station to use those letters is Hyde North which is HYT, and also happens to be in Greater Manchester.
