Watford Junction is the start of the Watford DC line (operated by London Overground), which is a commuter line next to the WCML that terminates at London Euston.

Hull is another station where all platforms are terminus platforms. It is also served by trains on two different lines, but unlike those at Southport, there are some through-working services which cover both lines.

Camberley also has a ticket office that is closed on Sundays, according to National Rail Enquiries.

Before the spur to Manchester Airport was built, the largely suburban loop between Wilmslow and Slade Lane Junction was commonly known as the Styal Line (this name is still reflected in the Engineers' Line Code for the route).
Another relatively small station which lends its name to the line on which it sits is Settle.

Great Western Railway operates the 'Weymouth Wizard', which runs on Summer Saturdays. When it runs, the next stop after Weymouth is Dorchester West.
