Pontarddulais station has one remaining active platform, which has a section raised to assist passengers boarding or alighting. This is known as "The Harrington Hump", and is a modular and easy-to-install system by which the height of a railway platform can be increased at relatively low cost. The system takes its name from Harrington station, the location of the first production version.

Weybridge is another station where you can travel to a destination via two seperate routes (Radyr to Cardiff via Cathays or the City Line; Weybridge to Waterloo via Hounslow or Surbiton).

Also holding the F2 category, as well as being another station on the Crouch Valley line, is North Fambridge.
