Malton is another station that was opened in 1845 by the York and North Midland Railway on its York to Scarborough branch line and was served by the services of the North Eastern Railway and also had a now-defunct branch line also serving it (The Malton and Driffield Railway)....(The now-defunct branch line at Seamer was the Forge Valley Line)

Burneside (Cumbria) is another station where all services are provided by TransPennine Express that has one intermediate station between it and the terminal station.

Torquay was another very popular seaside resort that saw very many of its holidaymaker visitors brought by the services of the Great Western Railway.
Hi Paul, yes I thought you meant the was to refer to the travel arrangements, but the actual statement reads as the popular holiday resort being a thing of the past!
