The rules in the first posting of this quiz have been a bone of contention since this quiz has been launched with regard to various queries railed in the past where closed railway stations, heritage railway stations, light rail stations, Tyne and Wear Metro stations and London Underground stations have all been the subject of queries.

You are correct in your assumption that a consensus was reached some time in mid-2012 that only currently-open National Rail railway stations should be valid as posting entries and I was informed that a submission to the quiz overseers was made asking that this very point should be clearly shown, in the rules of this quiz, that are contained in the very first posting on this quiz.

I shall send a PM today to one of the forum quizmasters,who now have moderator status, asking that this clarification be entered to the rules.

Clarification has now been added to the opening post, this rule comes into effect immediately, however does not void any previous moves.

Note that you should only reply with a station on the main BR network (e.g. not Underground or Preserved Railway) that is still open.
