Plymouth is the location of one of the oldest power signal boxes on the national network. The boxes either side of it are located at Exeter and Liskeard.

Reading General is another station where some services reverse direction.
A little bit behind the times that one. The General suffix was dropped in 1973.

Guildford is another DfT category B station directly managed by Network Rail.
