Amberley used to have a signal box on the platform which was also the ticket office and the local post office. The same used to be the case at Martin Mill.

Like Long Buckby, Blackwater's original station buildings were demolished during the British Rail era, and replaced with more basic facilities.

Dolau is unusual in being a request stop for Llanelli bound trains only due to the presence of a train crew operated level crossing. A similar situation exists at Ffairfach but in this case it is a request stop for Shrewsbury bound trains only.

Like Chilworth, Snowdown has had its name shortened. They were previously Chilworth & Albury and Snowdown & Nonington respectively.

Aside from the Oxted and East Grinstead lines, Sanderstead was the southern junction of the Woodside & South Croydon (now partially closed and other sections replaced by the Croydon Tramlink) which linked the station with Elmers End.
