Roydon station was designed by Francis Thompson (1808 – 1895) and opened by the Northern and Eastern Railway in 1844. Francis Thompson was a prolific railway architect and designed many stations. Amongst these are Audley End on the former Eastern Counties Railway, which was initially credited to Sancton Wood (1814 – 1886) but is now believed to be the work of Thompson.

The longest distance between adjacent London Underground stations is between Chalfont & Latimer and Chesham.

Not many people know this (he said in a very poor impersonation of Michael Caine) but the last westbound train from Brondesbury Park terminates at Willesden Junction Low Level (and the first of the day in the other direction also starts there).

Like Willesden Jct. Underground and Overground trains also share the same tracks at Kew Gardens.

Cuxton has a level crossing controlled from an adjacent signal box, so does Sandwich.
