Long Preston was opened by the "little" North Western Railway (later to be part of the Midland Railway) and is a two platform station managed by Northern Rail, as is the case concerning Hellifield.

Invershin is in a very rural location and a short distance from the next station down the line

Wick, its about as far as you can get on a direct train from Invershin
