Ah apologies about that.

I know we don't like the White Patch at the front of newly painted Vehicles such as the ALX 400. If you thought that white Patch was bad... look what I found. I really don't think the White Patch was necessary.
Personally I think the front end of the Streetlite is bearable. The back however! All that black glass and the grilles etc get in the way and make the coloured wheel lose it's effect. All in all, a bit of a bus shaped mess!

So far, I quite like the new livery, but not on the Streetlite! Hopefully some of the other more unusual buses in the Stagecoach empire might suit it better...

I agree, I can't wait to see the sole Optare Solo SE painted and I eagerly await the Stagecoach Highlands Eclipse Urban and any Sprinter Vans

I wouldn't hold your breath! I was told today that these are earmarked for disposal in the near future.

I think Merseyside still have some urbans though.

Crikey that looks horrendous, doesn't sit well in that bus at all!
Beats me why they didn't approach Mr. Stenning with this colour palate and ask him to devise their new brand - they've got excellent results from him before.
I doubt it was to do with them being unable to afford his fees - more like they were persuaded (wrongly IMHO) that a Stenning livery was old hat...

Yeah that does look quite smart. Less large expanses of white is probably why - and tbh those little Sprinters look smart anyway!

Inside It's a bit weird because it is ex D and G buses, so the spec is a bit different - I swear the display is smaller than that of the 44xxx ones we had in Ashford.

Agreed - the livery really isn't designed for buses - it's a nice logo but one that looks poor when applied to the actual shape of buses, no allowance made for muddy skirts, the shape of wheels, the large black expanse of windows/ destination screens etc - great on paper but messed up by the actual shape of a bus (and the complicated pattern of black etc)

Stagecoach east kent sprinter 56917 has already been painted.

Doesn't look too bad!!
That's better - the curve of the "beachballl" is almost tangential with the rear whee - less clashing.

I'm agreeing with the posters who've said that the livery looks a lot better on smaller vehicles than larger ones - the double deckers have far too much white on them but it looks better on a minibus.

If only the designers at Stagecoach had reapplied that they run "big" buses as well as "small" ones

Oh wow... found out some news

This Pic of one of Stagecoach Highlands Eclipse Urban was taken yesterday and the person who took it has confirmed that it is getting a repaint. Cannot wait to see how it turns out. As soon as I get a pic I'll send it here

It looks as if it wants scrapping rather than a repaint!

True, I don't know how old this Vehicle is and the other B7rle in the Highland Fleet as they are all second hand from another Company down in England. Since they're not getting scrapped I do wonder how long they'll last.

It'll be repaneling ahead of repaint, If it was for scrapping at Inverness you'd know as the panels would be badly cut off using a blowtorch and the mirrors and wipers would've been removed.

21204 is tipped as being the vehicle due to receive the MacBraynes heritage livery.

Maybe that's the only Urban getting a repaint done as they are getting old a bit so I wouldn't be surprised now if none end up getting the new Livery.

Focus at the moment is more so on replacing the B7R/Profiles which are far more worn and higher mileage. If 21204 is being repainted then it's likely the others will too. I'd imagine if any single deckers are to go then the SV57 plate E300s are more likely as they're not belt fitted.

That particular one carries an 07 registration, so is actually a year newer than the oldest Enviro 400 deckers with 06 or 56 plates, some of which are already in the new livery.

Indeed, down here there are some Wright Eclipse Volvos with 09 registrations, so 3 years newer than the oldest Enviro 400s. It's not impossible we could see some of the more unusual buses in Stagecoach wearing the new livery...

Yeah you're right for sure. Ah well, we will see at the end but the Sprinter in the new livery looks fantastic truly.

Enviros are very standard in the fleet, the B7RLEs aren't so much. So isn't the best comparison

Do all Highland buses have seatbelts then?

As far as I'm aware it was just Enviros. Down here Stagecoach Strathtay Enviros, Solos and Versas etc newly repainted or not all have Belts. Haven't seen any ALL 400 in Dundee for ages now. Not been on one since last summer so have they been transferred to the Highland Fleet as I know Highlands received some recently but I've got no idea where from. So the transferred ALX or any Bus for that matter anywhere I can imagine would get a repaint first before entering service due to reduced Timetables?

Is it likely that anyone, apart from the sort of people who read forums like this, realises that the jagged shapes at the back of newly painted Stagecoach buses represent the company's logo? Indeed, if you showed the Stagecoach logo to a random sample of people, how many would recognise it as belonging to Stagecoach?

I do think that, after 20 years, it was time to refresh the livery and the colours chosen for the "local" livery aren't bad. The trouble lies in painting everything on the bus white and applying a few splodges of colour on it. Any saving made by not masking off the black window surrounds when applying the white will surely be lost by what must be very complex masking for the splodges.

There are different opinions about having route branding or having a consistent corporate scheme. If Stagecoach have the latter view, fair enough, but then, why have the green and yellow liveries which will, inevitably, end up on the wrong routes? It is notable that, here in Exeter, the first buses to be painted into the new "local" livery were the green MAN/Enviro 300s on the Green Park & Ride route.

The yellow rear end on the recently revealed Megabus livery is an improvement over the plain blue used since Sid's sad demise. However, the effect is spoiled by the uncoordinated white lettering all over it.

Is it too late to hope that Stagecoach will find a competent graphic designer to advise them?

At the moment I'd guess at a low double digit percentage <18%.

Yes agreed, after 20 years a refresh was in order.

Short answer - Yes.

After reading some of the replies to this thread, I decided to try and imagine what the new livery could look like if it was just the old livery with new colours. Not sure the grey skirt works, but here's a quick one I drew up...

That looks much nicer than the awful mess they’ve gone with. I’ve tried to like it but I’m just not warming to it at all.

That looks much better! Personally would a wavy line of Blue fading into the Green work connecting the two colours together work or would that do now?
