I wonder why the MAN Enviro 300 rear looks so similar to that of an Wright Eclipse Urban. Does anyone know if Stagecoach Highlands Wright Eclipse Urbans will be painted in the new current Livery or will be withdrawn?

What do we think of this? Stagecoach Manchester, I believe this to be the first Enviro 200 of this length to receive the Livery (pictured below)

*Mod note* When posting images, make sure there is a clear description. Also, please refrain from posting screenshots - we would prefer a link to the image on flickr.
I think that's probably the first I've seen where the white front panel doesn't look out of place. I still don't like it, but it's better than most of the new paint jobs out there

I assume it is paint, and not vinyl?

The B7RLEs are staying. 21204 is currently at Inverness for repaint but is believed to be getting a MacBraynes heritage livery rather than one of the new liveries.

I’m not sure where this rumour comes from - it isn’t specified by the council at all, hence the 37 hasn’t ever used anything in InterConnect livery (I assume it’s still an IC route?), and neither has anything of Brylaine’s on the 5 or 7. Additionally, Norfolk Green never did either, although they did have some subtle route branding.
Oh, then my apologies. I was told that was the reason they weren't being replaced with the new livery.

Yeah all of the Geminis have now left Scotland. I think some are still in service with Gillmoss depot in Cheshire
...
There are 3 Wright Geminis new to Lincolnshire RoadCar still with East Midlands. Another of the same batch was converted to open top and is used on the Lincoln Tour. 5 more are used on Skegness and Cleethorpes seafront services, which were new to First West Yorkshire. I wonder if any of these will end up with some version of the new livery.

The latest recipients of Interconnect purple were ex North East Enviro 400s earlier this year if my rusty memory serves me right.

That looks quite good! As @Azzy49 mentioned the livery looks better on smaller vehicles. One improvement would be to paint the headlights and the panel between in white like the SC North East E300's.
Thank you so much! I found it and i think Wright Crusader's belonging to any Stagecoach Company if any still have some would suit the Livery. The only thing that does trouble Me is that sure Stagecoach Companies use Enviro 400 non MMC Version between Cities and I think that they are better of in the current new livery than the express yellow and gold livery. Reminds me of American School Bus! The Elite's and Panthers suit the Yellow Livery, but I don't think the Elite I suits it and I really don't think a Panorama (if thats how it's spelt) would suit it!

Was out on a Drive today and I usually see one or two coaches enroute to Glasgow/Aberdeen etc. So I saw a Citylink Gold Panorama on M9 from Glasgow to Aberdeen, right behind it was a Citylink Gold Astromega from Edinburgh to Aberdeen on M92 and right behind that was a Megabus Astromega from London on M11

In my honest opinion, my favourite front styles it’s the SNE e300 style and that E400 in Scotland with that fully white front https://www.flickr.com/photos/richa...-twVNKh-2jegcUh-MvZit9-2jNv4K6-2jNzrXU-u8gY5V the SSO one (19885)

and the Scotland one

I agree, it does stand out more.

at the end of the high and low roads
I can't be the only one noticing how squint the front Stagecoach logo and fleet numbers are.
Yes, gives the impression of being a Friday afternoon job, taken together with the wonky wipers it makes for a less than ideal image.
I did a quick 5-minute edit of the ALX300. Thoughts?
I think that is an improvement.

To me that looks like a 'fisher price' bus which has escaped from some childs toybox! Might be to do with the smaller size of the bus I suppose?

Why Stagecoach insist on repainting nearly end of life Tridents and Darts confuses me. This bus still has flipdots, and yet they've chosen to repaint it over an Enviro.

The thing is, tridents and darts have all been "near the end" for years now. Somehow, here in Gloucester, we've gone from having 18 tridents to 3 tridents back to 7 tridents in the space of 3 years. I am almost certain that they will still be in regular passenger service for years to come.

They're very robust vehicles, the only issue being the Trident's combustible tendencies.

That livery would be nice for the InterConnect services. Unfortunately the livery is specified by Lincolnshire County Council.
All the Interconnect Stagecoach brand was beachball in purple. Don’t know about the other operator(s). Is is stipulated or was it a local Stagecoach decision? Why can’t they’d a similar variation for Interconnect services as with Magicbus?

See post 958. It was chosen by Stagecoach, not the County Council

Yes, Covid will push back new vehicle investment and replacement of Tridents and Darts, but surely when investment starts again these types will be top of the withdrawal list. It seems futile. Especially when I think it was said that these types weren't going to be painted due to their age

But what happens if they need repainting NOW and are to be kept in service for 2-3 more years? It makes sense to repaint them, surely?

If the economics stack up, yes. 2-3 more years of service makes them worth repainting, to be honest.

Also worth remembering that they are likely to stay in better bodywork condition, and therefore last longer in service if they are repainted.

I agree. That's probably why they have been painting them then

I would guess that standardized repaint cycles are the major cause. Although I see your point, is it better to have newer vehicles retaining still-smart older paintwork and older vehicles proverbially flaking to bits, or better to repaint everything in x years as planned so regardless of colour, it always looks fairly smart?
In East Kent buses in 'Wave' livery are being repainted and moved to Herne Bay replacing buses in 'Triangle' livery which have been repainted and moved to Folkestone and Hastings to take up duties on 'Wave' routes. Presumably one intention is to avoid confusing irregular customers (although there is nowhere served by both routes). Additionally, (at least) one of the two centenary liveried buses has been repainted - the centenary was 4 years ago so somewhat irrelevant and the burgundy and cream not really what the occasional traveler would be expecting, however much contributors to this forum might just want some variation.

Isn't the swap here to do with the chassis - swapping Scanias from stop-start work on the Triangle onto the longer distance Wave route and E40Ds from the Wave to Triangle. I thought they were being exchanged two at a time (two in each direction), with each pair being taken out of service for painting as part of the exchange?

Of course I'll always think of This or this as the proper livery for a bus.
There's an ex-Stagecoach Volvo Olympian in NBC red doing one of Hunters Coaches' school runs in Daventry and I think it looks amazing as the livery sits very well on it. That's what comes of being a child of the 80s, I suppose.

There's a bit of a story behind those ones, They were previously with Weaverway Travel who painted them into the NBC style livery with NBC Style logos. The name was "Noah Vale" (complete with NV logo), who used them largely on Rail Replacement work.

"Noah Vale" I'll let you work out the pun with that one...

I think that's the reason for the swap but the repaint appears to have been on 'Wave' or 'Triangle' liveried vehicles. Those in the old Stagecoach livery have been moved without repaint, I believe.

One of Morecambe's Enviro 300s has been repainted into the new livery.....complete with a fat red Santa on the rear and green christmas trees on the side
Looks like a real paint job, not vinyls

Any Pics on Flickr Bud?

Does anyone know if any Stagecoach group have any Optare Solo SE (single Door at the front instead of the usual two) bringing my point on about the smaller Buses looking better in the new colours... I think that would look quite striking. Can't wait for the first Sprinter and first Eclipse Urban to be painted in the new Livery. The only thing I don't understand just now is why does Stagecoach Cambridge have a completely different new Livery from the rest?
