Also just a heads up, Patchway depot are still planning to paint 2 more tridents in the specialist livery, the 3 tridents are also being seatbelted (for school use tho)

Is there going to be a standard new livery for vehicles used for driver instruction?
Nowts been said yet. Bluebird have painted a driver training vehicle in a blue livery but East have painted theirs in yellow, I think those are the only driver training vehicle repaints since the new livery came about.

I think it might be just me, but I actually quite like the new liveries!

Sorry to disappoint you but I’m pretty sure I saw an ex Gold 300 painted in the messy new local livery around Cheltenham this week. Not nice!

Well the second with the black window surrounds looks infinitely better than the first.
I’m pretty sure the E300 you saw was 22752, probably the worst it looks utterly horrible

The new livery grown on me too I didn’t really like it at first but it looks ok now

I quite like them too, but I think we're in the minority!

I do quite like the Local livery too, when applied correctly. The Distance Amber is my least favourite, however - it's very drab and unappealing, just looks like an American school bus IMO.

Got bored so I did a new livery Inverness bodge job on a Wright Gemini. Please excuse my paint.net skills

Not a bad job, I love how the beachball is kind of skewed, proper Seafield Road job there!
Haha yes a bit like 27714 and 27555 here both inaccurate paint jobs especially on the green

the multiple colours across panels have come up with a few interesting results, swapped a rad door out on a 24 the other day and there is a rather large difference between the two, especially on the yellow, im looking forward to the falcons in the long distance colours once a few ongoing queries are sorted. R.E. the templates they're not very resilient, so not surprised some depots have given up, our paint team has resorted to a projector. The new white will be difficult to keep brilliant, the old off white never looked 'clean' but covered up the days dirt well, even on the rurals

You thought those 2 were bad, feast your eyes on 22752, plus that’s lazy Gloucester depot for you

On first glance it actually doesn't look as bad. Once you look a little closer, though...
I hope this photo put the rear logo into perspective, sorry for potato quality. Also the depot are too lazy to paint a double decker int he new livery yet

I know that's technically wrong but I frankly prefer it to the "correct" version... also I'm sure there's a good operational reason for not painting any deckers, I doubt it's just down to laziness...

The problem is that a lot of people are sharing pictures of apparently "wrong"/"inaccurate" paint jobs and I'm struggling to see what's not right about them, because it's not obvious what the "correct" version should be.

Is the rear "circle" supposed to make a tangent with the rear wheel or not? Should the blue at the rear of a single decker taper to a narrow band or still be thicker than the yellow intruding from the sides by the time it reaches the top of the vehicle? What is the correct blue/white ratio underneath the windscreen?

I genuinely don't know (this isn't sarcasm, I'm honestly seeing so many versions/ alterations that it's hard to know what the "proper" version should be (other than, presumably the application of yellow underneath the windscreen was wrong, since depots seem to have stopped doing that).

They range from a bit squashed to not lining up properly (such as the Gloucester one).

Honestly though, Gloucester depot seriously need to step up their game with the repaintings, some Man enviro 300s have the black grille on the side others don't. I can do a better job at making the new livery on paint (VX58DCF is not a real vehicle). On that note, MAN E300 22754 (GX58MVT) has received the new livery

There were always variations like this with the old livery too. I don't get what all the fuss is about and I'd bet the overwhelming majority of people wouldn't notice or care about minor inconsistencies.

But Falcon is a strong brand that should not be diluted into the yellow school bus livery. This rubbish about customers not understanding branding as they find it confusing is wrong. Why spend money creating a brand such as Falcon in the first place?
