Stagecoach North West Discussion

The 167xx Olympians at Preston. Noted three of them in service on Thurs: 16706 on the 4C, 16708 on the 59 and 16709 on the 2/2A. Of them only 709 had its old display in use. The other two had route boards or A4 paper in the window.

That could be down to the display types. 16709 is the only 1 of the 4 to be fitted with a Hanover Flip Dot unit. The other 3 are all fitted with Bright Tech Dot Matrix units. Data from the Hanover "KeyLo" sometimes works on the Bright Tech's, but Preston use (or did use) changing displays, which the Bright Tech DM's won't be able to cope with, for obvious reasons.

I'd imagine Preston will get the Dot Matrix's replaced by LED's at some point.

I got a few shots as if left the annex.. heading back to the depot. 52628 left not in service heading in Maryport direction. Can't have been staff shuttle as 16447 had just gone that way.

ME isn't that far away. Myself and fellow RUK member cainebj went down in 2009, it was well worth it Although, at that time I wasn't very familiar with Lancaster :roll: A trip down last summer cured that though

It is still sporting its Stagecoach in Lancashire fleetnames, and "Stagecoach Ribble" legals.

52629 sat at bus station Not in Service.
20909 was going to be the 1640 300 to Workington, but was pulled off at last minute, so we were all transferred onto 20924. Awesome bus 20924!
33161 on short 685.

Heard a few drivers in Carlisle saying about how busy buses were with Richard Rose Central Academy now being in the city centre. This included a Reays 64, which had to send school kids onto Stagecoach 76 at St Anns Hill, due to all 28 seats on the Primo being taken up, and more than the maximum standee's on board.

Volvo D10A engine (same as B10M's and R reg Oly's) with 4 speed ZF gearbox, if memory serves me correctly, making it extremely similar to the P reg B10M's we used to have.

and 20910 the only stand out buses on 30/31.

I could only find 15683 on long 300.

15685 and 15686 on as well. Not sure if the other bus was 15684 or something else. Think it was 15684 though.

22609 been on annexe. and does anyone know if 16447 has been withdrawn?

The 2012 Open Day will be held at Lilyhall to celebrate 100 years of Cumberland which was formed out of Whitehaven Motor Service Co Ltd founded in 1912. This is why it is being held at Morecambe this year.

Expressing my dissapointment about the open day been at morecambe i would love it to be on my doorstep(s) Lillyhall and Willowholme but as ross said morecambe isnt far away so i might try and get to it, taking into account that northern rail trains are working fine as that is the only way for me to get to morecambe from salterbeck.

16654 Was out on X61s today seen in Preston at 1515 ish we i was there. Still with cumbria all over and the Hourly stickers in window for 300 but i guess they will stay because its the same as X61 Didnt get picture he was reversing off as i was trying to move down to my stand witch he was on haha

A First Wright was hauled on to the back of a transporter at Stephenson Square at lunchtime today. I'm curious to know what would have gone wrong so that it had to be carried rather than towed.
