ex Wyre Villager Solo 47001 is at Carlisle for repaint. heard it is going to Chorley along with 47002 for services 337 and 347, starting at end of the month. not sure if it is true or not.
If they definately do go to Chorley, it leaves Preston's Solo fleet as fully MAN engined.

47002 arrived at Chorley last week, 47001 will follow after re-paint, they will see service on local routes, the 04 plate optares will be on 347,337.

Still no confirmation on what oly's will be coming in for the X61 service as yet watch this space.....

The two ex Preston Bus Optare Solo's that were transferred to Stagecoach Yorkshire have been re-registered with private ageless plates.

47751 was PE51 YHF now RHE 353
47752 was PE51 YHG now NHE 340

Yeah I posted that they were been changed a few pages back but didn't post the reg's, very sneaky of them lol!

I'm still putting my bets on LL's refurbed Olys going to Chorley but we will see!!!

Workington... Yay.
It would appear that LL's old InfoBus has been purchased by JB Pickthall, it was in their yard this morning... with various bits missing!

Heard that Reays have tested the demo E200 on the County Council Contracted 35 and 36.

certainly a bad day for 300!
I got 17017 on 1035 300 from Workington to Carlisle. by the time we got to Carlisle, it was chucking out smoke, a little hot at the back upstairs, with a slight smell of burning. I went to the bus station at 1600 to wait for 17017 coming back in for a ride home, to be greeted by Carlisle's 16397. oh yes, 17017 had "set on fire" and had been towed to Lillyhall! when the driver put 16397 into the stand, he went around to the back of it, to notice oil dripping out of the back, he'd already complained about dodgy steering, so that was the 1610 300 right out of the window! 14232 turned up at approx 1625 being driven by a fitter, to attend to 16397, so the 1610 and 1640 300 were merged into the 1640 on 14232, while 20907 left Carlisle City Centre not in service (it would have ran 1640 300 to Workington), and started picking up 300 passengers just outside of Carlisle due to 14232 being very full. it was very nice to get a ride on 14232, but it just couldn't manage the 300 hills  the sound was awesome though :D
so at end of the day, 300 was 15685, 15686, 14232 and 16653
heard 1 of the Scania's was off for general maintenance, and the other missing one is accident damaged. dunno how true that is!

52408 and 52626 on 685.
34048 on short 685.
47722 on 66's tonight after a day on 69. the driver managed to set the alarm off and couldn't deactivate it!
20904 on 600.

47006 on Moorclose 50 now, after a day in Maryport.
47060 replaced 34218 on Moorclose 51.
35248 on 30 and 31.

*Sigh they will kill 17017 if they keep doing what they are doing but then you have to choose between having a service low floor and destroying the bus or having it not low floor with a step entrance. Like you said I don't think anything is suited to 300 haha

Wish 16653 would set on fire, it has always needed a bomb up its arse.

For the second day running, the 556 struggled for traction through Borwick. Was quite interesting having a bus go into 2nd gear at 2mph!

20710 was also seen on a Dallam run this morning, so nothing too serious...

34218 on Moorclose 50. 34218's roof isn't pretty
47024 on Moorclose 51.

20923 on 30 and 31.
all 4 Scania's 300.

33076 on Citi 61/61A.
16355 on 554.
47722 on 69 as usual.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
the 1610 300 left Carlisle at 1635 today, using 16397! oh yes, another "breakdown" for Lillyhall! this time 15686! the driver loaded the passengers, turned the bus on, to read "Engine Malfunction" on the dashboard computer display!!! there was also something on there about emmisions being very high, and something about the alternator!
15686 did start up though, and was driven to CE depot by a Carlisle driver. luckilly, 16397 (tacho'd) was already at the bus station!

20907 on the Carlisle operated 1640 300 to Workington.
20924 on short 685.
52408 and 52627 on full 685's.

16654 on 30 and 31.

I have just seen an H reg Olympian on the 42 heading from Garstang back to Lancaster. I can't understand why these old vehicles are being used on front line services, should they not have been down graded to school services only?
I know the 42 is not a low floor service but even an S/D B10 would have been better, especially in the middle of the day.

What joys will be on Moorclose then today...
Perhaps 2 solos for once

don't be silly
20473 on 50 and an 04 reg Solo on 51

52627 and 52409 on 685.
34048 on short 685.
33161 was a spare for Citi services (they no longer park at Debenhams, due to an issue with Reays).
33076 on Citi 62.
47722 on its usual allocation in Carlisle.
24122 (connections to Carlisle) and 24124 on 104. 24123 is still away at MAN getting a shiny brand new engine (at just over a year old!).

52629 is now at Carlisle, replacing reserve Interurban 52408 (for Rail Replacement duties, but will get used on other services to keep it running).

I think that will be 14196 as it was on the 42 earlier. The H's are quite regular on the 42 along with pretty much anything else. I think they are looking to get rid of all 3 remaining Leylands this year but we'll see, 14195 is officially on reserve but still in service.

It's because the Leyland Olys are used in a common pool with the Volvo examples. Also the fact that Gez wasn't on duty today, so no common sense was applied.

Aye he was, freezing his giblets off down at Christie seeing what effect the new lights are having on the services past the new Sainsburys.

Dont forget buses are at a premium this week with the onging works at Morecambe requiring one and the extra service along the north side of the Lune Valley needing another.
