Any ideas what donated the engine to 16185?

I never knew Travellers were going for tri-axle double decks, you learn sometihng new every day! I notice their Carnforth yard is starting to fill up as vehicles return from summer transfer work in Scotland.

Mmmmmm have we established whether or not there is a height issue with 16185 in terms of the bridge near Keswick?

According to cainebj, the word is that its not going back, because of a height issue.

Hopefully it'll go down to Preston and send 16647 up, or something...

If they still have those F reg's in full time service (not sure if they are) then 16124 could see off one and 16185 the other.

I was not aware of an height issue when the Park Royal bodied Leyland Atlanteans which were number in the 13xx (NRN 3xxP) series operated the service in the late 1970's.

This just landed in my inbox from Lancaster University:

"Extra bus services at peak times

In response to larger than expected passenger numbers, Stagecoach have introduced four new services in the morning peak to arrive at the underpass by 09:00 (Two Service X22s and two Service 2s) and two new services in the afternoon peak to depart from the underpass at 17:00 (both Service 2s). This will be a permanent change. Stagecoach will continue to monitor passenger numbers along the city - campus bus routes and provide additional buses and drivers, if required."

Someone said stagecoach have recently scrapped a N/C bodied decker and they bought the engine to use for 16185.

47005 on Maryport - Whitehaven 30's yesterday.
47024 on Workington Town Services yesterday.
and also yesterday, was a Merc engined Solo (a very loud one at that) doing spins around Whitehaven.

20459 turned up at Carlisle yesterday for a repaint....

Also this is what 16124 will look like when its finished, not sure if I like the way the blinds look...

that would be down to the origins of the bus! ex London, so it was new with roller blinds the same style as the S reg Tridents. when the bus was moved out of London and fitted with the Hanover flip dot, it had the new display window put in, with the display unit itself at the bottom of the display box, rather than mounted mid-way up.

So much for Frenchwood depot having two Solos "boomerang" branded for the 150/151 route, 47486 & 47487. Today East Lancs Sprite 33204 and Solo 47489 are working the route in place of both Solos.

not SCNW, but Reays have put forward a timetable change on City Hopper 64, effective today.
the journey from City Centre to ASDA is now timetabled 23 minutes, instead of the previously timetabled 21 minutes.
Stagecoach 62/62A from City Centre to ASDA is still timetabled as 25, yet takes a shorter route than Reays do. (City Centre - Lowry Hill - ASDA, as opposed to City Centre - St Anns Hill {St Annes if you're from Reays} - Lowry Hill - Kingstown Broadway - ASDA)

I wonder if stagecoach will eventually "Brand Up" a bus for ASDA?
Probably no point really though, as the chances of a bus staying on one service at the minute is just so slim

that would be correct. i couldn't add up last night!
i've now found the service change to 64. Reays had it taking 33 minutes from Caldewgate to West Tower Street on the last run from Morton Park (1752 at Caldewgate, 1825 at West Tower Street, where the service terminates), it has now been adjusted to 5 minutes (1752 at Caldewgate, 1757 at West Tower Street).

Carlisle Citi Dayrider price has been slashed again! it is now £2.60, down from £2.90, which was down from £3.30. Reays DailyHopper price remains stood at £2.95 for now.

also, relating to Reays, they have updated their LED displays yet again. they now have some rather awful scrolling on the rear! "63 Infirmary via Boundary Infirmary Circular" all scrolling. the destination on the side display is now in capital lettering, with via point in lower case, all squashed on the side. passenger usage on Reays is still lower than Stagecoach :roll:
