Its a shame tho 14210 is around the back of Barrow depot. 14266/7 Are still in service at the moment i think they the only olympians in Barrow out on everyday service.

it is a shame, they are great machines but I think its about time they went, some of them will go forever and some of them are beginning to die off.

Now I think about it Jonesy I think 20305 has gone and its only the mersey B10 and 20127 sat at the back.

Haven't seen it yet but it could well be out there. Wonder how long 20127 is going to be sat there. 16874 (stored at LL) needs a home as well, its been sat around for ages and theres nothing wrong with it as far as I know!

Also been mentioned that 20128 has been sent to ME to cover the X22.

Only thing with that is, none of the Local indies are anywhere near a big enough threat to be any sort of competition at all...

Two Words...

Preston Bus!!!!

preston bus lasted years and years. i think reays could be a threat round here with out a doubt if they bring step-less busses in. we will see how they get on at carlisle

This isn't a personal pop at reays, but they are not in the same size group as PB... Reays have been around a long time, that i know, but every small indy SC comes up against ALWAYS loses. I cannot see Reays being a threat directly, more a "Gap Filler", providing services where SC do not. If SC wanted to, they would crush them in a matter of months.

since the new increase in fares on Town Services it seems that a single return ticket from the farthest stops en route to town (Moorclose Shops to the Bus Station at least) is £2.30 and a Workington Dayrider is also £2.30! I would have thought they would have increased Dayriders also.

Simular situation in Preston, the Preston dayrider is £3.50 but single fares to many of the areas it covers are well over £4.00!

It depends if im in a helpful mood! You still get people arguing they didn't want a dayrider they wanted a single... im sure if a single was 100 quid and a dayrider £3.50 some would still get a single!!!

If they are not interested in saving money don't argue, it only increases company revenues! ;)

I've always found Stagecoach NW dayriders very good value compared to SOME rip off single/return fares.

Single Kirkham - Blackpool £3.50 Return £5.80 (Blackpool Transport, which takes a lot longer I'll admit, single £2.20/£3.95 day)

Stagecoach Fylde Coast Dayrider £3.50

PS Someone mentioned FOCUS of Much Hoole - was it Reays sister company at one point(??) Everything on finance and very cheap contract prices, just as fuel prices were rising fast
