Preston's OM has been appointed OD for West Scotland, the Assistant OM who became acting OM has been appointed OM at Aberdeen from 1st Oct, and OM Kendal is retiring at end of October. Interviews were held last week for AOM Preston and are being held Thu & Fri this week for OM Preston .

then caught 17013 to bowness.

33162 started on short 685. was replaced by 42577 when it was running late, then that was replaced by 33161, which came off the 69.
52408 and 52626 on full 685.
16397 on 554 as per.
16651 and 16734 on evening 301's.
14257 on staff shuttle then SL Ltd.
think it was 16714 on 30 and 31.
34616 was pulled off 30 and 31 this morning, it then went onto Seaton replacing 20918.
as has previously been mentioned, i was on 15683 this morning. it did seem a bit sluggish, but once the driver got it to speed, it was fine. then it started to smell of burning not too far from Wigton. it performed rather well between Workington and Maryport, and also between Thursby and Carlisle, but on the slightly more hilly parts, it didn't seem to like it much. the heat coming out of the vent thingy on upper deck was rather hot nearer the end of the journey, it was blowing cold near the start. gearboxes could do with being modified to change gear a little later.

I expected the Scans to be used on 301. When another MAN is tacho'd they will be used on the evening journeys. :roll: Still not sure why they didn't allocate two B10's tonight rather than 16651/16734.. (One Scan was taken off service earlier in the day but will be back on before the end of the week)15680 had a warm rubbery/plasticky smell today too - I just put it down tot he newness of the thing and the warm weather - but now you say that - it makes you wonder.....

I had no real problem with him, just had an ongoing argument with him back in my school days about the route D2 took, its changed now lol.

CHANGES TO CARLISLE BUS SERVICES

It is all change for bus services across Carlisle from today with new operators taking charge of some of the city’s services.
Stacey’s of Carlisle are taking over the number 71 route from Anthorn to Carlisle but will continue to operate the same timetable, with Carrs Coaches keeping the Carlisle College service and Stagecoach operating the evening service and early morning journey in college holidays.
Stacey’s Coaches are also taking over the 101, which runs from Rockcliffe to Carlisle, via Cargo, and will be operating the late afternoon service timetable on the 84 and 97 services – which run from Hallbankgate and Castle Carrock respectively through to Carlisle, via Brampton. There will be some minor changes because the school timetable at William Howard School, in Brampton, has altered slightly.
That alteration will also affect the number 95, which runs from Brampton to Carlisle via Heads Nook and Great Corby, and is being taken over from Stagecoach by Reay’s Coaches, with the stop in Carlisle now St Paul’s Church, on Lonsdale Street, instead of the bus station.
Telford Coaches are taking over the 185, which runs from Carlisle to Haltwhistle via Brampton and Gilsland, and the 680 which runs between Nenthead, Alston and Carlisle, via Brampton.
Both contracts have now been merged with the one providing transport to William Howard School for pupils from the Longtown area, and changes are being made to the timetables to fit in with the school day.
All other routes will continue to run as normal.

08 reg solo (47616) failed at the bottom of Bransty Road by tesco on Lowca 1 this afternoon, other 08 reg solo took over.
47005 in Workington on Harrington this morning, in Whitehaven (i think!) this afternoon on Mirehouse (probably why Moorclose lost a solo) - due to 08 Solo failure taking over 47617 on Mirehouse

I would say its the new company just getting shut of it rather than repair. They have to sell on all the newish buses that are too old for TFL Contracts where as if stagecoach still owned the company would just cascade the fleet elsewhere

Darn shame SC pulled out of London, would be good to have cascades from down there! I think your right about them writing off the accident damaged one but the other one looks fine so may be there for a re-fit or something. Interesting anyway

18364 apparently moving back to Morecambe next week. last day of short 555's tomorrow.
tomorrow is also the end of full 517 operation, it will go back to weekends and public holidays only until the end of October, when it finishes for the winter.
599 finishes full 5 bus operation on saturday evening. sunday will see the start of the "kicked down" 3 bus operation until the end of October, when it will cut down onto the shorter route (Bowness - Ambleside) 1 bus (B10M) operation.
BA's 40021, 40327, 40435, 40646 and 40651 are apparently due to be withdrawn over the next 2 weeks (open to correction on that). they're also apparently losing 40447 as their Shuttle Bus!

Its a shame tho 14210 is around the back of Barrow depot. 14266/7 Are still in service at the moment i think they the only olympians in Barrow out on everyday service.
