They don't, there's a number of NatEx services that leave Carlisle and head up into Scotland and over to Belfast. There is only one NatEx service from W/Cumb which is the 570 Whitehaven-London service.

When i said Cumbria, i was meaning West Cumbria. So there only one NatEx a day now serving Whitehaven!:|
It wasn't that long ago when there was three or four a day serving Whitehaven, including a night one, which i used to use. Also Barrow used to have one a day.

So if Stagecoach are thinking about putting a Megabus service into West Cumbria, then it should do well.;)

Went into Preston this morning on the 0806 40 service from Garstang. It was a MAN, but forgot to note the number. It was feeezing and the driver had to warn passengers getting on & off to mind the large patch of ice that had formed on the platform!!!

Also noted that another Preston Bus Solo has been repainted minus the green. It is 47772. There is no mention of Stagecoach anywhere on the vehicle, but the Stagecoach number has been applied.

I've got the new fleetcard which I will post in a short while and all the ex Preston Bus vehicles that were at Lillyhall are now shown as being at Deepdale Road. The Lynx's are in reserve and are currently being serviced to gain new MOT's. The MetroRiders have all been sold and will be going to PVS at Barnsley eventually. 133 is still shown as in storage at Morecambe, but I know of somebody that is interested in buying it. There are currently 18 vehicles in Seasonal Operation Delicenced, an amazing 53 vehicles in Operational Reserve & 10 vehicles in storage.

If anyone actually wants to see the Scottish Amphibus in action, here is a link. You will also get to see Mr Souter as well

Plenty of B10M's at work today on 3/4's. There was even a B10M (20906) on 555's.

At about 2pm, whilst waiting for my late running bus to turn-up. the driver on 22819 was having problems, at one point there were 3 inspectors looking at the bus!, one of the inspectors said to driver i'm going have to give you the spare bus.

Are you sure it wasn`t 22809 as 22819 went to stockport after it was caught up in the carlisle floods in 2005.

Indeed, there was. An absolute pleasure to ride on. Made up time at every single point - we were 4 early into Carnforth! Now why can't Tridents do that?

16648 will no doubt end up like 16358, though hopefull slightly more intact!

Now that you mention it, i'm not sure now. It was on the no 3 going to the Uni. I was trying to keep an eye out for my bus coming in at the same time.

There be less wind drag with the B10M, due to it only being single decker, not double decker.

14258 and 20790 parked at the bus station at Sellafield all day. Quite odd that the In Cumbria has been removed from the sides of 14258 (Preston Bus perhaps???)

it hasn't had "in Cumbria" on it for quite a while. one of the other H reg's is the same. not sure why they didn't get it put on them!

just been thinking about the something special happening easter time, and i'm guessing that a service change will come with it. the only registered changes that i have found that appear around the same time as this something special is expected, is the introduction of summer season timetables on lake district routes, and the service change to X5.

its rather odd they've been removed like.

so, with the latest fleet list being out, i've updated the "fleet stats".

Carlisle: Average age 2001. 55% accessibility.
Lillyhall: Average age 2000. 45% accessibility.
Kendal: Average age 1998. 43% accessibility.
Barrow: Average age 1999. 43% accessibility.
Morecambe: Average age 2000. 71% accessibility.
Chorley: Average age 2005. 73% accessibility.
Preston Frenchwood: Average age 2004. 90% accessibility.
Preston Deepdale: Average age 2000. 73% accessibility.

fleet stats for North West as a whole (including Preston Bus) is an average age of 2001, and 62% accessibility!

with Barrow getting 7 Trident's for 6 / 6A, it will give Barrow an average fleet age of 2000 and 55% accessibility!
once the flood recovery stuff at Lillyhall goes, Lillyhall will be looking at an approximate average age of 2001 with 52% accessibility.

If, as stated in previous posts, all the P Bus Metroriders wtored at LL have been sold to PVS, and Oly A33MRN is up for sale, will Stagecoach have to replace these buses in the P Bus fleet prio to sale, and if so what does anyone think they will replace them with? I tough F296DRJ may be used to replace A33MRN, but not sure about replacements for the Metroriders.

16662 on the 2
20451 on the 7
25223 on X1 then 6a.
17024 on 2a
17020 on 40
20131 on the 55 into Lancaster
20795 on 80
14208 on 46X

Spotted 17019 looking very smart with its new blinds on the 2a. Also 14196 looks better with its Hanover :)

Spotted from a distance an Oly parked up at Common Garden with its hazards on and its LED blank. Just as I got down there it pulled away so didn't note the number but an area at the bus stop was fenced off and some work chaps were sweeping up what looked like glass. An inspector was taking a page long statement from a passer by who had witnessed whatever happened. Not sure what went on but the Oly headed back toward the bus station or possibly the depot.

Also a step entrance Merc coach was on the 8a this morning along with one solo.

Someone may need to correct me on this, but... I think there are still some 709d's up at LL out of use which could go....

They won't necessarily have to find replacements, this is what the appeal is over. IF SC are sucessful, PB is sold on terms agreed between SC and the buyer - ie. Stagecoach control what gets sold.

If the appeal fails there's still the chance that the CC would approve a sale without the Metroriders and A33MRN, as a new owner would probably sell them immediately.

That might have been 16667 that crashed into the glass partition at the market.

I saw the broken glass in Road & on the pavement, and 16667 with its upper deck front windows broken, when i went pass at about 08.55.

Then when i got round the corner into George Street, stright into a bus jam, caused once again by the builders blocking Spring Garden Street off yet again.:-x There was a MAN stuck on the corner of Penny Street & Marton Street, due to parked cars.

I'm gald that i'm on Holiday, for the next 8-days!

Solo YE52 FGX, brokedown yesterday morning (Thursday) and was replaced by Merc Coach YN06 JFJ until the Solo was fixed.

Whenever, there is problem with one of the Solos then YN06 JFJ is the first choice replacement.

MX05 OSZ, is the bus which i normally drive, the problem with the blind was down to a mirco chip in the front display unit.
