Oh very interesting about the X35. Are Princesses seriously considering it?

The Directors and myself, will look at the details of the contact in detail, before deciding if to place a bid for the X35 contact or not.

For commercial confidentiality reasons, i can not say what we decide to do.

18381 has got scrolling on the front sestination screen IN CAPITALS now....

Caught 22721 back from the uni, I've never been so glad of the 555 being late...The 3 arrived at the Bus Station at 1627, the 555 2 mins later.
18357 (Mr. Wainwright) was on the 555.

They`ve probably not changed it yet as a few of them are now saying sorry i`m in service...er i mean sorry i`m not in service and have small letters on the scrolling bit when the destination is up.:D

pretty odd day today!
16447, 16651, 16652, 16734, 20768 and Carlisle's PX05 ELH (can't remember number) all been on 300! the time slot the dart was on seemed to be the 1635 from Workington, towards Carlisle.
the Connections to Carlisle branded Enviro started out on the 94, but was later replaced with 20909.
24122 then went onto the 600.
this morning, the 600 was operated by 20757 and 20759.
2 R reg B10M's on 75.
14254 on Brampton 685.
think it was 33076 on Brampton 95.
42025 was out on 71.
33161 on 69.
42577 and 42584 were both on layover at the bus station, and went out on a few routes.
24116 was on layover at bus station later on this afternoon.
one of the Carlisle inspectors was driving 24123 on 104! (easilly recognisable, as she is the only female inspector there, and the inspectors uniform is obviously different from the drivers.
14205 and 14207 were both on school work. you can still see where it used to say "in Lancaster" below the big Stagecoach on the side. "in Cumbria" has been placed on top of it.
20966, 52408 and 52409 been on 685.

in Workington:
47062 on 50.
47059 on 51.
33167 (i think), 33169, and 34079 on Harrington & Seaton

18366 (I think) was on 0705 555 this morning with the access hatch at the top of the stairs open. Inside was what I take to be CCTV related....it was a black box anyway.

Not much odd today all business as usual.

Three Leyland's lined up at the back of ME's yard this evening and Tridents and MANS lined up in the lanes along with everything else.

Merseyside have received their first two Enviro 300's.

something i missed off my post earlier on.

one of the upstairs windows on 16652 was broke when i was on it today. at the back on nearside. everytime the driver was accelerating from slow speed, or braking, the window would fly open, and even "at speed", after someone had slammed it shut, it would just blow open again. it got extremely annoying!
hopefully don't get problems like that on the train next week...

Lol how annoying I've been on a bus before and the wind has been blowing so hard and the bus going so fast that a window just flies open, and as you can imagine it would take a bit of wind force lol.

I wonder what will be first to leaver Merseyside now E300's are starting to arrive?

Thats where they hide them, they must of forgot to lock it when they had taken out the cartridge:roll:

Ahh right. I was right then. It wasn't a case of forgetting to lock it, but shut it in the first place! (The door was wide open all through the journey surprisingly)

Summaries of the remedies hearings are on the CC website:
http://www.competition-commission.org.uk/inquiries/ref2009/preston/

One thing that strikes me is that
1. The operators feel that cross-ticketing is a good enough reason to stay
2. Stagecoach expanding hasn't put them off; nothing has changed really
3. Individuals (IE. Joe Public) said that if divested, SC would jsut go back to 2007 status and start again

I really can't see CC ordering divestment having read all the summaries. Just the one from Stagecoach to be uploaded now. Final decision will be by mid October.

I wish they would just get on with it. I'll be very annoyed if SC don't get it to be fair.

There is one evidence submission I particularly agree with on there where he basically lists what we keep saying.

quite a lot today!
in Workington this morning:
47023 on 50.
47617 on 51.
33168, 33169 and 34079 on Harrington & Seaton.

16447, 16651, 16652 and 16734 on 300. 16651 doesnt have any scrolling on its display!

in Carlisle:
24122 (your connections to Carlisle) was on the 94 this morning, and later 600. 94 was later covered by 20908.
20924 i think it was, and 42577 both on 75. 42577 has a broken bright tech display, rather luckilly, it was broken on the route it was on! (it had a mixture of Cotehill 75 and Bridge End 75 on the display, and was refusing to change haha).
20960 and 52409 on 685.
42090 on AD122.
14254, 20943 and 20909 all had a go on 66.
33076 was on the short 685.
14265 on 554.
42762 on 69.
34048 on 101.

down at Carlisle depot:
33161, 42025, 20743, 34707, 20965, 13297, 16336, 52405, and a Citi branded dart in workshops / sitting outside workshops.
in the Paintshops were 20977, 16669, and a rubbed down unidentified short wheelbase Dart with Marshall body (assuming this is 33164 or 33165, recently withdrawn from Kendal).
down the back of the depot and down the side were 42094 (AD122 vinyl), The Osprey Bus, 10728, 14203, 20994 (awaiting transfer to Barrow), 20435 (awaiting transfer to Lillyhall), the Berkhof bodied B10M coach in Driver Trainer livery, 52408, 14254 (after running 66), and an R reg B10M (looked like it could have been 20474 but couldnt clearly identify it).
16329 was hiding away in the big shed, amongst various Oly's, B10M's and Darts.
First Edinburgh's SN55 JVG was in the bus wash!

i also saw 16654 in Carlisle! it was heading towards Carlisle depot from Sands Centre area on Bridge Street. i didn't get to see the driver, only saw the top, but i think it was a fitter driving it! it wasn't on 300 today, so no idea why it was there. the display was showing Sorry, Not In Service.

20544 on 6a!

Have we talked about 16877 on here? As apparently its been moved from Yorkshire to SCNW.

Also just read that seeing as the 3/4 are been cut down to every 15 mins ME are due to loose a few MANS. Not sure how true this is as it makes no sense to me. Surely would be better to loose B10's... It came after some folk were discussing why ME lost 2 B10's, the reason apparently been the down scaling of the 55 timetable.

Ah, I thought I saw you this evening Dallamlad....just wasn't sure if it was you or not.

20544 has got a Trident style radiator grille (squares) as opposed to the B10M style (vertical bars). The driver was very enthusiastic, giving it a good revv up and one heck of a horn blacst before setting off.

18359 on 555. Only 1637 today.

When buses reverse off the bus station they have to sound the horn to let other drivers know they are pulling out. Something to do with cutting accidents down at the bus station.

Yes I think Mbonwick was commenting on the pitch and length of the horn lol its funny when u have people sitting down by a boarding door at the bus station and watch them as they jump out of their skins when a horn is sounded near by lol.

they should start doing that at Carlisle!!!
when i was on 16651 on 300, we were reversing from the stand, and one of the "new" B10M's came flying around the corner and had to emergency stop!
suppose that was the B10M drivers' fault though. 5mph speed limit in the bus station! he was driving from standstill and got it into 2nd, so must have been well over 5mph!

It really was you then :p You walked past me twice I think?? I was wearing the pinstripe suit and the blue/black rucsack.

With regards the horn, I know drivers are supposed to sound it, but the driver of the 6A really lent on it, let go and blasted it again. Normally its just a simple toot (which IMHO is useless - you really do need a good blast)

That's the new ones for Aberdeen-Manchester isn't it Gez? I didn't realise Preston provided drivers for them....

It's a shame Lancaster doesn't get any Magabus services, and only the NatEx 570.
