It gets worse!

As we all know the 1620 555 has been at least 20mins late EVERY DAY this week, and that's without going round Borwick etc.
Well, from next week (Monday) the motorway bridge at Holme will be closed until the 2nd November, entailing a lengthly diversion to Crooklands and back which will add god knows how long on!

(Unless SC get their fingers out and missout Holme altogether and serve Burton from the A6)

Gets me why they dont use the A6 between carnforth and milnthorpe where the 755 goes until the roadworks are finished:roll:

What is the height of the motorway bridge over North Road in Holme ?

Because this would be a shorter and quicker diversion, then going via Crooklands.

Both 1856 and 2030 42 departures form Lancaster are now booked for Solos

Oh right well there you are that explain it thank you :)

I suppose Merseyside is a bit of mystery as know one seems to know as yet whats going where apart from the E300's of course.

Kendal Town services sound really bad it amazes me how they seem to do all the roadworks in an area at the same time causing more trouble then if they did it in bits.

12' Something I think...3 feet too low :(

And Jonesy - exactly. I think that every few hours Kendal should operate a bus along the A6...eg. Trident comes off D6 (Usually before 1620 555 arrives!) and then forms an X55 to Kendal and then to the depot. Everyone's a winner with that...

20463 on 4.

going back to what i said about the 300 running 30 mins late:

the A596 is closed, meaning lengthy diversions, due to a serious police incident!
the A596 is fully closed between Aspatria and Thursby Roundabout, which i'd guess means buses missing out rural stops, and using the A595 to get to the other towns!

A596 Aspatria
both ways between B5299 Brayton Road and A595 closed
A596 Cumbria - Closed both ways due to serious police incident between Aspatria and Thursby Roundabout, in Aspatria. Diversion in operation - From Workington avoid using the A596 towards Aspatria after reaching Maryport.

18363 the morecambe f.c. bus was out on the road (a blink and you miss it) today due to the traffic in lancaster at a standstill due to a fire near the bus station but it was only out for 10mins. :D:D:p

14235 on the 530 to Kendal from Cartmel as well as 20735.

As well as 20463 21004 and 21007 were on the 3/4.

21003 on the 6a!!!!!

I've always thought that D6 could be used for a public service after getting to Lancaster. But it does tie in with the 555 so never really been any point but with all these delays it could be an idea. May not always be low floor though...

Also spotted a Volvo Olympian on the X35 heading for KL.

Just can't keep 18363 tied down Jonesy lol how bad was the fire and where was it?

Yeah as you say its been at KL for a long while and to be honest I don't see it moving back again. Always hated getting it on D6 in winter as the heating barely worked lol. Was better in the other Leylands apart from 14199.

Well that fire sounds quite bad wonder what happened.

May have to drop by the launch tomoz to see 18363 get the off lol.

Fire in a basement in flats caused by an electrical fault at 7:30am causing mayhem in lancaster all day.:|

Oh dear good job I was out in Cumbria then! However when we passed through town at about 12 it was fine and we sailed straight through...

I'm getting my Uni rider in a few weeks so will be out on the buses even more. Really missed having a pass lol nice to have the flexibility!!!

I have a feeling it was 16334. I'll be very interested to see if this route is taken up by anyone else...and if not what will become of the Tridents...

There was a meeting between Stagecoach and Cumbria County Council the other day, which i believe, ended in a stalemate.

Oh doesn't sound good...

Surely SC knew that the CC fining them would be an issue as the 4th bus has to be a step entrance right? So when they took the contract they must have known.

A significant transfer to North West from Fife is MAN 18.220 no 22274 (X274 MTS). The significance is that in 2001, while allocated to Cowdenbeath depot, it received the name "The Backstreet Boys", after the American pop band. This was as a result of an internal staff competition. The driver who submitted the entry, which was drawn out, chose it, as his daughter liked them.

The band had inspected the bus, and the plates were carried on teh cab until the arrival of the new 18.240s recently, when the name was removed.

22274 has been in Preston for about a month I think. And tbqf, being named "Backstreet Boys" is not something to be proud of!

When the X35 was first started in 2002, it only required three buses to run it.
Over the years extra running time has been added, due to problems with time keeping, until now when there are four buses required.

Maybe not something to be proud of in some peoples eyes, but the bus did get used on special worknigs as a result. AFAIK the plates wil not be reapplied to another vehicle.

14235 has settled at Kendal permanantly now it seems....

Didn't it land in place of 14203, the first Torrisholme Road bridge victim- it went off north when it regained a roof while we kept 14235- saw 14203 in Penrith sometimes. 14199 came back after it got a new roof- It was the first bus i saw in the new livery, it was on it's way back from wherever they did the roof. Never likes it- bring back 14192!

14235 moved to KL at the beginning of the school term last year. It was funny because D6 was run with a B10 for two days and had kids standing up, prompting complaints from parents. On the 3rd day, 14235 turned up and ran D6 solving the problem lol. That wasn't the reason it was moved but was a funny coincidence. It got a repaint this year which of course meant that "Stagecoach in Cumbria" was stuck on the side rather then "Stagecoach in Lancaster" which had been there since it was moved.

14199 was an ME machine and then went up north returning to Lancaster for an interior refurb last year I think.

On the subject of the X35 that all makes sense now. So I suppose CCC could argue that if SC were unhappy with been fined all the time they should transfer another LF decker to Barrow which isn't really fair. Well anyway its all a bit of a mess.

Also for those who are interested the Morecambe FC bus is been launched today as we know. The bus will be at the ground from 12 till 3 with it been officially launched at 12.30. I may pop down myself to see whats what.
