They look great Gez very nice looking vehicle!

Traffic through town has been very bad today for some reason. I was waiting at Bowerham bus stop when 18326 went passed with Sorry not in service on the blinds. Despite this it still had people on it. When I caught it up in town the display had changed to show Mrecambe 40. Thought this was very odd.

Of interest is 16335 going onto the disposal/scrap list. This is the Olympian that was in a fatal collision near Chorley at the start of the year. Only recently, I had been told that it was being repaired and would soon be back on the road, albeit at a different depot. This vehicle was regularly used on the Ribble Enthusiasts Club trips as it is in the Ribble red livery. Perhaps Dave the Bus can make enquiries

From what i can tell, they have been looking at it with a view to restoration, but it was said not long after the incident that it had a twisted chassis problem, i'll see what i can get from my snout at Preston..

PS Speaking of repaints, 20794 arrived back at Chorley this week.. Suffice to say, i await a drive to see if the 'old problem' is still around..

Before it went to Lillyhall 20107 was at Barrow for a little while. I see one of the F reg Olympians is now in reserve - but nothing is being sent to replace it. Also where are the M TBVs, 20474 and the spare R XVM going to end up? Barrow or Lillyhall?

the M TBV's and 20474 are due at Lillyhall in October apparently.
20894 is a P reg Paladin bodied B10M (P894 MNE). i really couldnt tell you where it is due to go.

Yes they do look awful lol and would be good if they got stuck together. My word there's a lot of B10's going lol end of an era really. KL's B10 fleet is changing a lot as well. Shame as I got rather attached to them when I was at school lol.

few things noted today.

the "your connections to Carlisle" branded Enviro 300 was on the 685.
one of the 79 / 179 branded Enviro 300's on 101.
1 of the 104 branded Enviro 300's and a Carlisle Citi branded Dart on 104.
a Carlisle Citi branded Dart on 179, as well as an Enviro 300.
Enviro 300's on 79.
20924 on 554.
20757 and 20759 on 301.
42025, 42090 (AD122 Vinyl) and 20944 all had a go on AD122.

other things:
42025 has had its roller blinds replaced by a Bright Tech Dot Matrix display (thought to be from 14203, as i couldn't see a display unit on that), hooked up to a Hanover Displays control unit.
14203 in the corner of CE depot still, with various parts missing.
10728 was shoved against the back fence, with the "Steering Wheel Cover Of Death", and a smashed windscreen.
16329 was hiding in the big sheds. so i am assuming that 10179 was on Seatoller.
14247 was in the workshops with the engine bay open.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
continuing from last night:

the full cab layout of Carlisle's Enviro 300's is different to Lillyhalls. on Lillyhalls, the orange cash tray where passengers put the cash is on the cab door, but on Carlisle's, there is a little orange tray right next to the ticket machine. the cab door is fully "protected".
the dashboard layout is also very different. on Lillyhall's, the dashboard is curved, with switches on either side of the steering wheel, including door buttons. Carlisle's are flat, with all swiches on a switch panel to the right of the steering wheel, and the door buttons are mounted vertically right next to the side of the cab on the right of the steering wheel.

today in Carlisle:
noted 20960 has had its retrim retrimmed, all apart from back row.
14265 on 554.
your connections to Carlisle Enviro 300 on 600.
14206, 20765 and another R reg B10M on school work this afternoon.
16447, 16652 and 16734 on 300.
42670 on layover.
42533 on staff shuttle.
42025 and 33076 done runs on Carlisle - Brampton 685.
20907 on 75.
the branded enviro 300's and Citi branded darts were all on their correct routes as far as i saw.
didnt see what was on the full length 685 due to the times not working well with uni.

18354 was very hot inside (heating on, windows all shut) and smelled very oily in the saloon. The engine also felt a little hot as I walked past the radiator at te bus stop.

The motorway bridge at Holme was closed for 6 weeks today - in actual fact, SC are operating the 555 via North Rd. The tunnel under the motorway is easily high enough to fit a DD under. Sorry KendalKing for the misinformation.

I know that i have driven coaches, under that bridge in the mid 90's, but i couldn't remember if there was an height restriction or not.

Supposedly withdrawn 20735 on Town service this aftternoon, before going on 552's.

KLCH TAZ 5285 on 503 to Capernwray
22817 on 501 to Combermere Road.Rear display was very poor on this one.

Not very interesting but thought I'd put it up as I'd seen a lot of Ripley stuff.

Also saw 18363 on the 2a at about 6.45 this morning (22nd) and it really does look great. Good to see it about :)

Seen a solo on Maryport 57's today... it's nice to see the newer buses venture out this way, but some CLOWN parked on senhouse street, opposite the bus stop this m,orning, and it was a TIGHT squeeze for the wider solo to fit through... and as usual, the traffic warden just looked on, powerless because of the "Blue Badge" on the dashboard. on top of this, there were actually TWO disabled bays free about 10 yards away!!!!
I have nothing against the disabled at all, but that just took the P*SS!!

It is annoying when people block bus stops! It happens at Bowerham all the time because people park at the stop to dash into the shop! I'm amazed as how the drivers keep their cool and work round it. if it were me I'd be on the horn or ram him lol as most drivers aren't insured when parked at a bus stop lol.

Too True!

The fact of the matter is, there are a certain few who are plain ignorant to public transport. just because they "Can't be arsed" to move, they would rather sit in the obstructing vehicle, and watch as the bus struggles through.

I myself am guilty of often "Waiting" in the exact same spot opposite the stop on senhouse street when picking "Our Lass" up from work, but if a bus comes round the corner to come up the road, the first thing i do is move.

It seems to me that some people (Not all, i stress) who hold a blue badge, feel they have a right to "Dump" their vehicle anywhere they want. and the fact is THEY CAN!! When i asked a traffic warden about this, he said they can park for TWO HOURS on double yellows before getting a ticket!! Fair enough, if they are not obstructing anyone, it's not a problem, but it seems to happen all too often at bus stops!

Sorry for the long winded rant, but it really "Grinds my Gears!!"

the "your connections to Carlisle" branded Enviro 300 was on 104 today, along with 24124. 24123 was took to the bus station around 1600 by a fitter, and replaced 24124 on 104, of which was then took to the depot by the fitter.
20943 and 42533 on 75 (usually Citi branded Darts).
PX05 EKL (can't remember number now haha) was on school work!
20909 was on 94, and then the CE operated run of Workington 300.
one of R reg B10M's on 600 (can't remember which now).
33076 done a few runs on Carlisle - Brampton 685.
14265 on 554.
16447, 16651, 16734 and 20761 on 300. some of the runs were running 20 mins late.
16651 cut out in Carlisle Bus Station after reversing from the stand. the driver started moving forward after reversing, and it just cut out. luckilly, it started up again!

also noted 20904 with newly retrimmed DP seating! last time i saw this, it had bench seats. i'm presuming this has been fitted with DP seating from the 2 Volvo Oly's that were converted to open top, as they both had DP seating but now have bench seats. 14203 was also a seat donor for the newly converted Oly's.

in West Cumbria:
33168 and 34079 on Harrington & Seaton. been told 33169 was the other bus on it.
47023 on 50.
33167 on 51.
20129 on short 300's when i got back at 1745 ish (late on 300)
47062 on Maryport Town Services.
