33173 on 552 (complete with bike rack!)
47057 on Kendal Town services
20967 going into Kendal off the A591, I presume this had been at Milnthorpe for testing.

Other buses on Kendal Town service today were 33166, 47009, & 47058.
33173 was Town services at the close of service, 47057 had gone onto the 552's.
20967 was entering Kendal depot at 16.50, with a stong smell of paint. No doubts it be out and about tomorrow or Monday.

as previously mentioned, Carlisle based 20965 was in Workington, and sat on the annexe. we are guessing that something died on 300, 20965 got shoved on to come back to west cumbria, then an oly went into service on 300. one of the inspectors went out onto the annexe, and just stared at it, looking puzzled as to why it is there.
either 40013 or 42566 has went onto the evening X5. it is usually operated by the bus on 50 during the day, but as it was 34616 today, something else had to go on, due to the length of 34616.
47062 has went onto town evening services. town evening services are usually operated by the bus on 46A. the bus on 46A today was 40013. 47062 stayed at the bus station after running the last 51, and waited for a suitable time to do a swap with 40013.
20765 is on 301's.
CE's 20436 done CE's run of Workington 300.

bus station improvements:
on tuesday, the first day the bus station was in full use again, one of the drivers slightly damaged a bus on the new raised platform, so that corner has now been christened "Andrew's Corner", and Andrew seems quite pleased to be the first driver to damage something on the improvements!!!

I'm glad to hear that ME are reusing at least one of the Olys old displays.

Nothing really going on in Lancaster at the moment so nothing to report.

I am pleased to say that all 3 B6s in the North West are now in Reserve/awaiting disposal at Lillyhall.

Noted over the past week or so that most if not all Lancasters fleet have gained 'Plusbus accepted' stickers in the first side window next to the door. I think its great that this ticket is finally getting some of the advertising it so desperately needs - hell its only been available for at least 5yrs! it really has suffered through half arsed advertising ever since its launch to the extent some drivers have never heard of it let alone what its validity is (same as Bay Megarider)

Quick note..

18153 has come back, freshly repainted and sporting 'Stagecoach in Lancashire' logos.

Just in time to replace 18150 as this finally decided to join 18154 on crock corner after weeks of rumbling and funny noises.

and 'allegedly' because of the constant problems being faced by Chorley and its tridents, 5 new buses are being brought forward for delivery in October..

Time will tell...

Ooh, and whilst i remember saw the Wallace and Gromit bus earlier, and where the circle used to have Christmas Day BBC1 .. it now, rather cheekily, depending on your point of view, has the legend 'Cracking Fares Gromit', i took a quick snap shot, but dont know how good it turned out, will try to fotopic it later

R962 XVM (20962) was later on service on the 22 in West Cumbria which later on broke down outside the BP petrol station in Whitehaven with a SC fitters parked behind it with him and the driver standing inside. Didn't see if there were any passengers on but at that same time a P reg beaver turned up so maybe if there was some on this came to the rescue? Not a very good first day in service for this then.....

What's the main problems with the Tridents? Surely they aren't beyond repair?

Not beyond repair, nothing major that cant be fixed anyway, just that they cant handle 125/6's anymore..

Allocation doesn't help either, with the depot being so small, the last bus in is usually the first bus out, and the first buses out can usually be the ones out all night, so if one gets stuck in a loop it could end up doing 100 hours in 5 days of constant running, and when you consider the amount of times you can be late during a day, the amount of driving in zones 40mph and above, especially when catching time back on the way to Bolton..

Theres been a few missing since the start of the summer so i am assuming, like i have mentioned before, that they have taken the opportunity to do some major work on a few of them, 18153 having re-paneling and a repaint being a prime example,. but when you get the likes of 18150 and 18154 dying off with less than two weeks before the re-write causing the PVR to increase for the schools, its not looking good, hence the word that 5 buses may be sent down in October to replace tridents which may go off for major work/refurb etc before being cascaded to wherever they may go

Oh, so they're suffering like Kendal's Tridents with gearbox/axle problems. You really would have thought Kendal would get new Scania/E400s for the 555.......I suppose it's something to do with them also doing school work though.

Stagecoach Cwmbran (Aberdare depot) have recieved their brand new Optare Solo's replacing those destroyed by the arson attack. they have non-standard interiors due to being "emergency" replacements. instead of the traditional Stagecoach blue plastics, these new ones have black, with yellow hand rails rather than the orange. i'm not sure what the seats are like, but i'd guess they're not the standard Stagecoach ones!

I'm gonna guess 18380.

I bet it won't be long before the Cwnbran Solos get a more standard interior - SC seats and orange grabrails.

I'm going with 18365 :)

Had 20451 on the 42 and they have replaced some of the head rests so they look all shiny and new and the rest of the seats looks warn and shabby lol.

Interesting about Chorley I wonder where the 5 Tridents will end up?

I wonder if they have come from dealer stock either direct from Optare or a commercial dealer? I doubt they could have built them so quickly....
