I'M BACK!

Well I spent a week on the Isle of Arran and found time to to do a bit of SC spotting while I was there. The island is very small and the SC fleet that runs round it is made up mainly of B10M's and 709d's with an open top Volvo Oly and a few coaches thrown in as well. I have put a list of what I spotted and have put pics on my flickr is any ones interested.

Ther Versa/Dart swap should take place when kendal's move to Fife. Gez at SC Lancaster tells me that the Darts are still sat at Morecambe....

Well it may already have moved up, it did recess at Morecambe for a while. The email I got the info was from a few days ago, but I've only just got back to catch up!

14233 running around not in service.
25225 and 20757 on 31.
20765 on X5.
47061 on Moorclose Circular 50. rear LED is still dead.
47062 on Moorclose Circular 51.
33167, 33169 and 34079 on Harrington & Seaton. they're running behind timetable at minute. Harrington 46 and Seaton 47 were both in bus station at same time, even though there's a 10 min gap between them.
20737 on 48.
20737 and 20134 both entered Workington around the same time, from Washington Central Hotel direction, both showing "Sorry, Not In Service". both of them had passengers on.
freshly painted 42566 running around with dead displays, i think it was on SL Ltd Contract.
20752 running around as a staff shuttle, still has a dead bright tech.
20734 went up to bus station at around 0845, with passengers on, but i didnt see the display. i originally thought it was on 30, but an Enviro300 was 2 mins behind it on Thornhill 30.

30 and 31's running late. both 31 and 30 have appeared at the same time to go to Maryport. this has meant that 22607 is currently sitting on the annexe.
heat on the buses has been pretty bad today, and its expected to get even warmer as the week goes on. brilliant!

hanovers aren't as reliable as originally thought haha.
rear one on that is dead. rear one on LL's 47061 is dead and side one works when it wants to.
we have a few dead hanover flip dots as well haha. rear and side on 34079. side is dead on CE's 34048. none of LL's vario's have working rear flip dots anymore either.

its Stagecoach North West lol, new doesnt happen that often, unless its Preston lol.
i can't see much happening up this end really. Jonckheere coaches will be displaced to Carlisle with Plaxton Profile bodied B7R's coming to LL, and thats about it. unless the transfer of deckers for 300 goes through, but its starting to look a bit unlikely now.
few B10M's to replace knackered B10M's, as is apparently happening across the NW region, but as far as i'm aware, it hasnt been fully decided which go where at the minute! its thought CE get 2 to replace the Paladin bodied B10M's, with some going to BA, LL and ME, but don't quote me on that haha

Did not see much today.

22818 parked in Blackhall Road about 10.45 this morning.
18278 & 18279 on X35's.
33173 which was on 552's/553's, ended-up on Town services.
47057 which was on Town services, ended-up on the 567.
34217 the most relaible bus in Kendal (well Dart) on Town services all day.

It was Princess Coaches, turn to suffer problems on Town service today. When the Primo brokedown this morning, which meant that our N reg'd Merc 609D had to be used, until the Solo came off the Windermere Town Service at lunch time.

LL has a few that could do with going, as does CE. not sure about BA.
CE has the 2 Paladin bodied B10M's that are just odd balls, they also have the rather nasty 20107 which was at LL, and was my school bus for a bit. they also have 20175 which is pretty bad lol.

Monday in Carlisle, 20949 an another B10 in the paintshops, also spotted ex Barrow F807FAO lined up with the school buses with new school signs fixed on.

16653 has gone for chassis inspection. the other 3 are around...somewhere.
16654 was out yesterday on 300, didnt see any other R reg's though.

Today's allocations so far:
33169, 47060 and 47062 on Harrington & Seaton.
47061 on Moorclose Circular 51.
47059 on Moorclose Circular 50.
20768 and 20134 on annexe. they both came down to bus station at same time from Washington Central Hotel direction, both with passengers on. i'd guess they were Workington 30, or SL Ltd Contract, or the morning Cockermouth X5 returning before a day on SL Ltd.

20761 on Staff Shuttle.
20763 on Lakes College 30.

I'd heard a whisper that these were to be moving on soon, to pastures new, to be replaced by ALX/Enviro 400s... probably won't be true though!

unfortunately, they've been saved for at least another year, possibly 2. so that'll be even more reason for me to start using the train to Carlisle again, or even drive to Carlisle lol. its apparently all down to costs. there's nothing available in the current SC fleet to replace them, and the route doesnt get enough usage to make brand new buses viable. personally, i think the usage bit doesn't make that much sense. the routes definately get used, but when i've been on, theres quite a lot of people getting on with their free passes, and not as many paying passengers as there used to be. but its rare that, when schools are off, you get a seat on the train to Carlisle, cos its that full. the train being quicker and slightly cheaper to get to Carlisle than bus.
