10728 was going along the A66 this morning, towards Keswick to, I presume, start the 78 for the day.
The Osprey bus (42xxx) and 42533 were on the 77/77A through Whinlatter.

Just got home after doing a 14-hour day (Private Hire). As I was driving along the A591 towards Keswick enroute to Cockermouth, i passed 18366 at abt 09.50 going the other way with "Sorry Not in Service" showing, as i was passing through Keswick itself, at abt 10.05 saw 52626 on X5 Penrith, soon after joining the A66 passed 42545 (The Osprey Bus) going the other way with "Keswick 74" showing.

Much later, when I was in Fleetwood (on the same job), I saw 47001 (which have been fitted with external CCTV cameras) on 86 Knott End, and 25231 was running around with "Sorry Not in Service" showing.

Had 30281 before heading for Halton. Probably of its last jobs and good riddens lol its was an awful ride and my god it shook a lot lol.

Also spotted an old green open top Bristol I think doing runs from Lanc bus station to Carnforth for the show day.

Was a mix of 3's and X3's running from the uni down to Lancaster. Should have been X3 really seeing as the 3 said it was going via Morecambe lol.

Hi Paul and welcome to the forum. Looks like it was another good day for the Carnforth running day!

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend this year, as I had to work yet again today.

Hi Paul, glad to see you've joined us!

Certainly does look like it was a good day, again, shame I couldn't be there. Oh well, there's always next year.

I think the Bank Holiday University extras are correct in showing service 3 numbers, the X3 didnt last long from what I remember of it - I think it was a direct replacement for the daytime X2 services. Its a shame no-one bothered to programme a University end short working option into the blind.

I got to thinking about all the recent fleet movements into, out of, and around the North West. I started to wonder what the longest serving bus was at each depot was, by this I mean continuous service without being moved away and coming back. For Lancaster I think its the J reg Leylands 14204 and 14208 although they werent new to Lancaster they have been here for most of their lives closely followed by 20463 which has been at Lancaster its entire working life.

Pity I was working on Monday so couldnt get to Carnforth, but I did see Atalntean 1481 and the Leaside Buses RML at Kirkham in the morning.

Nothing much happening today. 21003/4 on the Carnforth routes as well as 14208. Normal Trident bunch on the 2/2a as well as 20540.

Also spotted one of the B6's heading out on the 7 so their still around but will hopefully disappear for ever later this week.

Dallam lot business as usual apart from an old Leyland on D2 and a Trident on D5.

I'm told that the B6s are being flogged to death now, the rosters have been slightly amended for them - evidently SC want an excuse to remove them ASAP!

eg. Tonight 30277 did a schools from Hornby, then straight onto the "special" 7 which does a weird route.

Ha drive them to death kind of situation lol well got to say it wont take much lol. Wouldn't surprise me if they told the drivers to push them as hard as they can to finish them off lol.

I suspect it's the old division beween backroom and frontline staff. The office bods have a set date for withdrawal, which the drivers/diagrammers/fitters can't wait for and so they play the "kill them" game to get them pulled a few days early.

30336 (IIRC) was a prime example, withdrawn way early due to a siezed engine. No accident IMHO

hahaha well I'm sure it wont be that dramatic just trying to where them out before the week is gone. Those solos wont just wait around for the B6's to die lol whether they go tomoz or the day after or the beginning of next week it doesn't matter. Their going and that's good enough for me lol.
