The old depot still stands in Millom. Closed a few years ago now, but can always remember when we visited family when I was younger, There was always a Bristol VR in the Yard and a Leyland National...
The dart went down to Preston because a new (58 reg) Solo was involved in an RTA which is still under investigation.
It would have come back by now, but the PB takeover has thrown things rather.

There seems to be a B10 on the afternoon shift BNG run, its normally a 709 but has been a Volvo quite a few times lately

I still cant understand why they take the three or four varios through to Sellafield in the morning for the park n ride, then trail then all the way back again and back again at three ish, why dont they leave them on site and just bring one back with the drivers on??

I wonder how long it will take for the Maryport town services to be low floor, Barrow still seem to have a good few 709s left too

a lot has changed in the past few years lol.
shame there aren't as many buses, but services change all the time
its a shame, but oh well.
would be nice if all of LL's commercial services were low floor, but with the amount of sh*te Cumbria gets, could be a while, as you said lol.

01 = Bus Station - Kells
02 = Bus Station - Woodhouse
03 = Bus Station - Sandwith
04 = Bus Station - Harras Moor (via Pelican Garage)
05 = Bransty - Bus Station - West Cumberland Hospital (was always Bristol FSFs)
06 = Bus Station - Hensingham - Mirehouse
07 = Bus Station - Greenbank
08 = Bus Station - St. Bees. A few runs extended to Egremont
09 = Bus Station - Latrigg Road - Mirehouse
Also (confusingly) 9 = Bus Station - Gosforth - Holmrook - Drigg
10 = Bus station - Thornhill (also unadvertised services to Egremont)
10a = Bus Station - Nether Wasdale
11 = Bus Station - Beckermet (as a side-issue, the 11 was also a town service in Maryport, going to Ewanrigg)
12 = Bus station - Seascale
13 = Bus station - Millom. It was never a through service - because of the low railway bridge at Seascale, you had to change vehicles there.

17 = Bus station - Frizington (also the occasional, unadvertised service to Cleator Moor, when there was a small depot there)

19 = Bus Station - Asby
20 = Can't remember - there was one!

22 = Bus Station - Cleator Moor - Egremont. Most journeys then went to Gully Flats as an Egremont town service

34/35 = Bus station - Workington - Cockermouth - Pheasant Hotel(34)/Castle Inn(35) - Keswick.
36 = Bus station - Corkickle - Mirehouse (36 was also a short journey of the 34/35 between Workington and Cockermouth)
41/42 = Bus station - Lowca - Workington (can't recall the difference between 41 & 42)
There was a service (98?) that ran Bus station - Pelican Garage - Hensingham - West Cumberland Hospital - Mirehouse - Greenbank - Woodhouse - Kells.
I know this as I used to bus-spot in/around Cumberland (as it was then) from 1968-1972 (I was living in Beckermet). Leyland PD2s, Royal Tigers, Bristol MWs, RELLs, SC4LKs, LDs, FSs, FSFs, FLFs and a string of Bedford coaches were the order of the day. The LHs turned up in 1970. I still have a Cumberland Timetable around somewhere.
What Stagecoach has done to Cumberland Motor Services is a scandal, compared to the good services we had in the 60's & 70's.

20757 was on BNG and its rear bright tech has now been covered over!!!!!! presumably in preperation for LED fitment.
14258 was on schools, and its had its display sorted out! its been cleaned and is now bright, and its been re-programmed! it now has number on the right, and destination in lower case ("Bransty 33A")

18354 was involved in an accident this morning on the roundabout at J35a of the M6. Bus was undamaged, couldn't say the same for the car though!
20705 was sent to recover the stranded passengers (me included) while 20457 covered the 0830 out of Lancaster.
18354 was on the 1720 out of Lancaster tonight, so obviously no problems with it.
17022 has had a retrim, still with the old blinds though.

On the way home from work, passed the following heading towards either Sellafield or schools, showing either BNG contract or not in service: 52626, 20737, 42562, 14257, 14234, 20753, 47023, 20777, 20195, 20752, 20765, 20779, 14233, 14255, 14258,52196 and 16652. Another B10 on back shift duty too 20757 which as previously stated has had its rear display painted over.

Has 16734 got an LED or will it be getting 16358s. Does that not make you wonder if the other N regs will have chassis problems, the Ex Kendal ones for example
14258 and 16652 were on schools at St Benedict's. both of them were at C block pick up (main gates), which i think is Bransty and Frizington. there is another bus that goes to A Block pick up (sixth form end), which goes to Cleator Moor and somewhere else lol, which always turns up after all other buses & coaches leave.

Be nice to see Stagecoach gain some more schools work and get some more deckers work. Some of the old crap some kids have to travel on is shocking and then theres Rosies Travel that operates the 222, even worse buses than the 709s, 3D Travel as well, The only really smart looking vehicles are Reays, very well turned out!!

Rosies Travel have some real wrecks, none of them look even mildly decent! I see their 709 most mornings running empty up High St towards Whitehaven.
