Former Carlisle based 16351 on Preston to Penwortham service today, with boards in the windscreen.
20734 and 20737 on 31.
25225 and 35248 on 31A.
2 T reg darts and a 709d on Harrington & Seaton.
both 51 reg solo's on Moorclose.
both 08 reg solo's on Mirehouse.
passed a vario (P552 PNE i think) and a 40033 on the new bypass. P552 had "Staff Shuttle" on its flip dot, and 40033 had "Sorry Not In Service" on its bright tech.
14258, 16734 and another H reg oly (possibly 14257) on schools this afternoon at St Benedicts. i think it was 14234 doing one from Whitehaven School.
22611 looks like its had some bodywork repairs done to it on its ar*e end!!! either that or some of the red has faded quite a lot in patches hahaha
25225 and 35248 on 31A.

The following former Preston Buses were still carrying their old numbers when noted in service today 70, 113, 136, 184, & 197. Also note was 47794 minus fleet numbers.
Barrow Changes:
New 4S. Holbeck – Friars Lane – Greengate Street – Town Centre – West Shore. This is to link in with the new 6G.
New 6X. This is a fast service from Barrow to Ulverston, stopping at Lindal Anchor Inn, and Swarthmoor Red Lion. the journey is expected to last 20 minutes!
New 6S. This is an express service to / from the Shipyard to / from Ulverston. it is a limited stop service, stopping at Swarthmoor and Lindal.
New 6G. This will operate between West Shore and Glaxo/Tronic. It will stop at Coffee House, Barrow Town Hall, Greystone Estate, Tudor
Square, Cross-o-moor, Main Rd, Urswick Rd, Birkett Drive,
Mountbarrow Rd, Oakwood Dr, Priory Rd, Well Lane, and Watery
Lane.
New 24. This is a school day only service, going to to St. Bernard’s School and the College on Rating Lane, as well as Thorncliffe School.
Revised 6 / 6A. This will no longer serve West Shore. Services 4 / 4A will replace the West Shore section of the route.
10 and 11. Slight timetable changes to improve connections with X35.
23. This will no longer serve Barrow Town Hall.
618. Connection with X35 will take place at Newby Bridge. Larger, low floor buses will now operate this route where possible.
X35. Revised timetable. most services will run earlier than current times.
4B. This will serve Job Centre instead of Barrow Town Hall.
there are more changes to come. these are just what i have been informed of so far!!!
also, ALL Barrow Town Services will be low floor operated with these new timetables.

Lillyhall Service Changes
1. slight changes will be made. i'm awaiting details.
31. slight time changes to make 15 mins between buses to Frizington from Whitehaven (it is currently a 20 min gap then a 10 min gap).
46. slight changes to times.
47. slight changes to times.
X4 / X5. MAJOR timetable changes!!! buses will now leave Workington Bus Station at 20 minutes past the hour rather than 15. the current 0815 X4 service has been replaced with a shortened X5 which will run monday to friday only. This will run from Workington to Cockermouth, and on school days will be extended to Derwent School. The current 0815 X4 service will run at 0755 from Workington Bus Station. Evening services and Sunday services remain the same. There are some services that will run only over summer, and some that will run only over winter.

The new Scanias for the X2 in Preston have started to stray, one was seen crossing the bridge over the railway line in Kirkham this evening on a 61 I think.....
Is the Preston fleet now common user as it were, with former 'corpy' buses being able to appear on Ribble routes and vice versa?
Barrows 4B going past the Job Centre might not be too bad an idea in these times of people being laid off......

47794 was in stagecoach livery !
from what i've just been told, that would be correct. i've been told most / all of the 04 reg's will stay in the NW fleet at least. most of these will be based at Barrow removing a lot of the 709d's from service.
i'm waiting for the planned movements to Lillyhall to be confirmed. my source hasnt had it confirmed either. it will either be 47003, 47004, 47016 & 47017, or some 04 reg's, sending the 51's to barrow. That is what i've been told, things could change. we'll just have to see.
14234 on school work this morning with "007" on side display (must have been manually set by someone at LL lol)
16733, 16734 and another oly on school work at St Benedicts this afternoon.
52628 was on school work at Whitehaven School.
20134 on 31.

18362 on the 6a today. 21004 looking very smart with its new LED. I hope all the B10B's get them. 14204 could do with a repaint as its livery is faded and peeling off in places. Had 17017 on the 2a up to Bowerham. Those seats need redoing but a nice ride as usual. Much better then the 2005 Tridents.

18325 was replaced by 18375 on the 1754 2 service to the Uni from the bus station. Not sure why because it pulled straight out after been shut down and shot off toward the depot. Maybe somebody spilled something upstairs or was sick lol.

14208 was knocking around on the 40/41 circuit a few days ago, nice to see them getting to stretch thier legs once in a while. Are all Prestons Lynxes now withdrawn or are there still some in service?

No. There are still 2 Lynxs in Preston, as there are school contracts which require seatbelts.
BNG, British Nuclear Group, operators of Sellafield. Stagecoach West Cumbria have a contract to move workers to and from the site.

"BNG" (as side and rear displays used to show it when bright techs worked. rear displays on LED's show BNG) is a contract operated by Stagecoach NW's Lillyhall depot, providing transport to staff at British Nuclear Group's Sellafield plant.
it is usually shown on displays as "BNG Contract", but is sometimes seen as "85 SELLAFIELD" or "Sellafield 85". its mostly "BNG Contract" though.
the service is ran by pretty much anything that is spare that day. you can almost guarantee 709d's, beaver bodied vario's, and B10m's. it also see's any spare deckers, and coaches (TransCumbria branded Jonckheere's have been seen running it, as have VRR 447 and RBZ 5459).

There are 4 of the Stagecoach reserve 07 Solo's parked up at the rear of the Walton-le-Dale Park & Ride site in Preston. They are 47471, 47472, 47473 & 47475,

Also, Lynx 29228 seems to parked on the back of stand all day on the Bus Station and probably only used as a staff shuttle to the depot. It was there at 0720 this morning and still there at 1620 [though in a different place]. Somebody had left 666 on the route number display all day as well.
Preston Bus liveried 182 has been working on service 3 [Penwortham Circular] withe Selbourne Street drivers all week.

with the MAN 18.220 being on the front of a leaflet, it doesnt necesarrily mean anything. a few week ago, i found an old timetable from a Lillyhall service at my granda's house, and it had a MAN 18.220 on the front. it was from quite a few years ago, possibly 2002 or something.
