Forgive me if there is already information on here, I did do a search but couldn’t find anything.
I’m about to leave one Toc for another and wondered if I need to get a new priv card or will I still be able to use the one I’ve already got? Obviously, I’ve got to go through the process of giving up my travel pass with my current employer and applying for one with my new Toc but don’t know if I’ll need a new priv or not? Has anybody else been through this? Thanks in advance.

I think you are expected to return everything including your priv card to your current employer and obtain a new one. Some TOCs do have slightly different PRIV arrangements and require a minimum service time (Southeastern and Scotrail do or did at one point). If you are ex BR and still have the boxes then different arrangements may apply

If your service is unbroken, ie you move straight from TOC to another without a gap in employment (save for a week or two as an example) you retain your PRIV from day 1.

You return your PRIV and Duty Travel Card to ATOC/RDG and they'll issue a new one. Do not return it to your employer.

You will need to return your employers staff travel card to your TOC though.

Good luck in the new role

Has this changed? as I returned mine to the TOC.
Just to add, don’t return your FIP (if you have one).

I had huge issues when I returned it to my TOC when I changed.

RDG wouldn't issue the new one with new employer on until they'd received the old one with old employer.

Took weeks of chasing my old TOC to get them to confirm to RDG they had my old PRIV pass

Must be down to whoever was dealing with it from your old TOC, both times I changed TOC’s it was seamless.
I didn’t realise you could send it to RDG directly, makes more sense to avoid that scenario.

RDG even deal with my old TOCs staff travel cards. Had to go to RDG to sort that out!
