They're enough to make you want to slit your wrists...

33025 is going to be the only thing rateable on that tour, and I've had that already. Plus I just don't feel well enough to go to London for it.

That and the boring route plus the Crompton isn't leading with the best part of the tour! <(<(

exactly. If you wanted to do the route, just get a 444 out of waterloo with a return to weymouth. it follows nearly the same route

I'd rather do that route behind a 73 than on a 444. 444s are more boring than 73s (well IMO they are).

At least there's a decent air-con on 444s. Also a lot faster and obviously a hell of a lot easier to do than a tour that only runs once. Weymouth is hardly the most exciting place to go!

good thing its cheaper than a normal return *watches day-goers get the opportunity for a ever-so-slightly cheaper ride to Weymouth*

Only good thing is it diesel on way out not leccy 444 :P

Of course, Weymouth is exciting only if your used to going there, like me, every year. Never boring especially Portland Bill, just a short ride out of Weymouth.

remember for your english GCSE one its allowed not aloud.

I had to cancel my tour booking as my 'leccy bill in my flat was sky high, and credit crunch for me at the moment.

Indeed, the tour was 09:41 off Waterloo, whilst waiting for it at Eastleigh I saw the 11:35 off Waterloo go past. The tour didn't even cover any track which isn't do-able on regular services.

ok ok ok WELL off topic now...:P

ANYWAY shame 136 was out needed it for sight but as said im saving cash for a PS3, bashes abroad etc. OK the leccy bill was only £80 but when you storing away notes to save cash for these other things, i have no 'bashing money' left, is what I mean.

Hope that clears it up :)

Thefab444:

The tour did use one little piece that isn't in regular use, the salisbury avoider freight curve, only used every sunday on one night voyager IIRC and the rare voyager diversions

There are two trains that use that curve on most Sundays, they are:

1M07 08:39 Southampton Central - Manchester Piccadilly
9O30 14:05 Edinburgh - Southampton Central

Those can in fact be routed two ways, the usual route is via Eastleigh but very rarely due to other engineering works they will run via Redbridge. The latter route (between Romsey and Redbridge Junction anyway) is rather rare outside of ECS moves.

Done that rare bit you talk about on 220006 with heart-of-wessex on diverted Voyagers round Laverstock Curve in January. We had wanted to go via Chandlers Ford, but that day FGW were having to divert that way as well as SWT's 159s so no chance of Voyagers going along the single line too!

Care to say what they could do?

Not sure, will get back to you with answers ASAP.

That tour had some serious thrash going for it, any ideas why RJ did Waterloo-Woking and then got off

Never you mind. I have my own agendas, you just worry about what you're doing.

Those engineering works were between Southampton Central & St Denys I believe, so no chance of Voyagers on the far more common Chandlers Ford line because they couldn't get to it, unless they terminated at Southampton Airport Parkway which was on SLW and most paths taken by SWT Waterloo services.

I also partook of that rare bit with 221134 on the 0745 Bournemouth - Manchester Piccadilly.

So, how was this mega hellfire beast of a 73 then?

haha, it didn't do any haulage on the tour. it bought the stock in to waterloo, took it to jersey sidings, ran around, bought it abck to wemouth then took the ECS back to southall

It was leading when departing Woking on the return...

The part with the 73 leading :|

It was 33025 there and 136 back, I think 33025 was struggling abit, when we had to stop at Brockenhurst made it go funny, it had to thrash like mad to get moving again:???:.
