20% off many standard Southeastern Off-Peak train tickets online
01 Jun 2016
The offer, for tickets bought from the website southeasternrailway.co.uk/sale, starts today (Wednesday 1 June) and runs until Wednesday 24 August.
The discount is an extension on last years offer, which ran from the middle of July to the same date in August allowing passengers more time to get out and about during the warmer weather.
This is aimed at giving passengers more opportunity to visit, at a reduced price, the huge array of great destinations and hidden gems on the Southeastern network.
Discounts will include many standard Southeastern Off-Peak single and return tickets online, with no booking fees charged.
And tickets can even be bought on the day of travel, as long as people leave two hours between purchasing online and collecting it from a station ticket machine.
Southeastern Passenger Services Director Barbara Thomas said: We really want to open up the great hidden gems that there are in Kent, East Sussex and London to our passengers at a reduced price.
There are so many wonderful places on our doorsteps and we encourage all our passengers to take advantage of this offer during the summer months.
NOTES TO EDITORS:
There are some restrictions on this offer around route and Railcard exclusions. Please see our full terms and conditions.

Got an email from VT. If anybody wants a code and link for 20% off a Virgin Trains booking (adv tickets in June/July only, single or return, up to 2 passengers) then send a PM - can't be used with railcards so useless to me
I assume it's VT West not VT East.
...When you travel from Doncaster to London Kings Cross (and vice versa) on an Advance ticket, you can now board any of our services up to 1 hour either side of your scheduled service.
Simply buy your Advance ticket as usual keeping an eye out for the logo below when booking online.
And if you happen to be a little early or late, you can jump on a train that suits you better...
Can't find any mention of this on the forum yet, but Virgin East Coast are offering an "Hour of Power" (terrible name I reckon), with which their Advance tickets can be used on trains up to an hour either side of the booked one, for journeys Doncaster-London.
According to staff at the station (and also personal experience), it also applies to through tickets where there is a Doncaster-London leg on VTEC, e.g. my journey through from Kent last week.

It was mentioned in post 2451 in this thread on 13 May.
Odd name as you have anything up to two hours in which to start your travel.
Presumably this wouldn't work with print at home if using a non VTEC connecting service.

VTEC don't offer P@H where there is a non-VTEC connecting service.
But you could have PatH for a direct service but decide to go earlier and change.
That's what I would do if I swapped when going back to Hull.
As far as I know only the VTEC part is flexible

I'm afraid I have no idea what you mean by this.
Irrelevant if the connection isn't reservable.
A direct VTEC service where any alternative requires a change (in my example to NR at Doncaster).
If you have a VTEC only ticket (of any sort, not just P@H) rather than a VTEC+connections ticket then you won't be able to use that on non-VTEC connections.
That's not as flexible as for those who always have direct services, but other companies are not taking part in this offer.
