The offer, for tickets bought from the website southeasternrailway.co.uk/sale, starts today (Wednesday 1 June) and runs until Wednesday 24 August.

The discount is an extension on last year’s offer, which ran from the middle of July to the same date in August – allowing passengers more time to get out and about during the warmer weather.

This is aimed at giving passengers more opportunity to visit, at a reduced price, the huge array of great destinations and hidden gems on the Southeastern network.

Discounts will include many standard Southeastern Off-Peak single and return tickets online, with no booking fees charged.

And tickets can even be bought on the day of travel, as long as people leave two hours between purchasing online and collecting it from a station ticket machine.

Southeastern Passenger Services Director Barbara Thomas said: “We really want to open up the great hidden gems that there are in Kent, East Sussex and London to our passengers at a reduced price.

“There are so many wonderful places on our doorsteps and we encourage all our passengers to take advantage of this offer during the summer months.”

Offer runs 1 June to 24 August 2016 inclusive

1. The 20% discount is available on the following ticket types:

Off-Peak Day Return
Off-Peak Day Single
Off-Peak Return
Super Off-Peak Return
Super Off-Peak Single
Advance Single
2. Restrictions vary for different journeys, so please check your individual journey. As a general guide:

Off-Peak Day tickets are valid after 9:00am.
Off-Peak Day tickets for trains travelling into London are valid to arrive after 10:00am.
Off-Peak Open Return tickets are valid after 9:30am.
Super Off-Peak tickets are valid after 10:00am.
Off-Peak and Super Off-Peak tickets are valid all day at weekends and Bank Holidays.
Advance tickets are only valid on the train they are booked for and connecting trains, train details are printed on the ticket.
3. This offer is only available online on tickets purchased through the Southeastern website. Discounted tickets cannot be bought at a ticket office or through any other website.

4. This promotion is open to all Southeastern mainline and high speed journeys, except those with a value of £3.60 or under. It is not available on journeys wholly within the Oyster card area (London Fare Zones 1-6) or when purchasing a Travelcard.

5. Discounts apply to Standard Class only. First Class tickets are not available on this offer.

9. Kids for £1 tickets are available to purchase online when a Southeastern 20% OFF discounted adult Off-Peak, Super Off-Peak day return or Advance ticket is purchased. The 20% discount does not apply to the Kids for £1 tickets.
Standard Kids for a £1 t’s & c’s apply: One adult with a valid ticket can take up to 4 children for just £1 each Off-Peak. Full Kids for £1 terms & conditions.

10. Normal refund rules apply. Note that there are no refunds available for Advance tickets.

11. There are no quotas for the Off-Peak and Super Off-Peak promotional tickets, but there are limited numbers of Advance tickets. The promotion may be taken up by anyone, any amount of times for travel from Wednesday 1 June to Wednesday 24 August 2016 inclusive.

Can't find any mention of this on the forum yet, but Virgin East Coast are offering an "Hour of Power" (terrible name I reckon), with which their Advance tickets can be used on trains up to an hour either side of the booked one, for journeys Doncaster-London.
According to staff at the station (and also personal experience), it also applies to through tickets where there is a Doncaster-London leg on VTEC, e.g. my journey through from Kent last week.

The staff at Doncaster told me it applies to tickets with connecting services so long as the VTEC leg is between Doncaster and London. (I had a ticket with a Northern connection one end and a Southeastern HS connection the other).
Not sure why print at home would make any difference?

That's what I would do if I swapped when going back to Hull.

I'm afraid I have no idea what you mean by this.

I intend to make use of that "power hour" however it says look out for the logo when booking tickets to be able to use the power hour on the Doncaster - Kings X or vice versa seeing as they have always had the logo that the website states am I correct in thinking that I can travel a hour either side of my booked train using advance ticket on ANY VTEC service from Doncaster to Kings X ?

It's not something I was considering to do anyway - maybe once in a blue moon so I'll just assume it'd need a "normal" ticket to avoid any confusion if I ever thought I might take advantage of the offer.

@Sushiuk, the offer which ran earlier in the year was valid all the way to Exeter, sadly SWT didn't forsee the demand of the first eastbound train of the day from that direction and only put a single unit which was quite cosy after departing Salisbury (and the last trains westbound were cosier than normal)
