Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing. Just wondering if the flexibility on the return journey (ie return anytime) is worth £4 more

If you go out to, say, May 11th, a return SOT > EUS can be done for £9.30! Theoretically, its even possible for £8.80!!!!!!

Eh? Well, when I did it last time, it was crush load from sort of Lichfeild all the way to Euston. Very little chance of a check if you board at Stafford or later. Is this what you're referring to? If there are RPIs though... what would the PF be? A BIG risk!

I've had a look and cannot find any discounted tickets for travelling between Rugby and Watford, which seems odd as they have always been included in previous LM sales. :-?

There are sales tickets from RUG-NMP and NMP-WFJ which add up to a cheaper price than buying a direct ticket so looks like I'll be doing that for the journeys I need to make.

Bear in mind that this will stop you using the faster route via Weedon. I'll tweet them on your behalf

I'm not 100% what it is you mean there but...

I never really spend much money in Tesco... but when TCB started offering payment by Tesco points - I made a clubcard!

If this increase is true then buying a £26 gift card now to use in full payment for a £30 railcard later makes even more sense - giftcards are valid for 18 months

I am having problems with the LM offer, for example I have looked at travel from Birmingham to Stafford on Friday March 29th (for football at Burslem) and it shows a special offer price of £4.90 return but all the trains shown are XC services to Manchester and no LM services, surely XC will not allow discounted special offer LM tickets on their trains also it does not show any LM Birmingham to Liverpool trains which I would have expected to have to travel on.

LM set the fare for that flow, so XC will have to accept it.

This fare is routed Any Permitted so perfectly valid on any train company's service.

This fare is priced by London Midland, which probably explains why it has been discounted.

Thank you for that information, so if I buy a LM special offer ticket BHM to STA at £4.90 and then an anytime day return STA to SOT at £6.30 I can stay on the XC train from Birmingham to Stoke.
