It definitely was NOT first come first served.

I actually bought the paper, having spotted it whilst in the newsagents. Entered my code almost immediately.

Emailed it onto my parents, who entered it several hours after me. Dad received a voucher, but mum didn't.

Maybe they allocate them in another way as this always happens. Dad gets vouchers, the rest of us don't. Maybe they are allocated in the order the RSH accounts were opened?

From http://www.redspottedhanky.com/telegraph/

redspottedhanky.com is the new way to buy your train tickets online. We’ve teamed up together to offer 30,000 Telegraph readers a £10 e-Voucher to use against the cost of their future train travel. The e-vouchers will be allocated on a first come-first served basis and are only available while stocks last.

Excellent sleuthing, I'll see if I can raise that with Southeastern to be fixed.

One tweet and an e-mail later, there's no imminent sign of this being sorted out. Oh well, Southeastern will have to lose my custom then – it's a trip I was only going to make in light of the discount! (Which is presumably the whole point of the promotion…)

I just got mine as of 04:11 this morning. I applied roughly three days ago, therefore I figure it must take some time. To be honest I'd assumed I hadn't got it.

Got mine also. As usual, I got a duplicate voucher so £20's worth. :)

I've got one now but because the expiry date is 12/2013 it appears in the middle of the list of all vouchers I've ever had (used and unused.)

Where is this list?

Received all three of mine today.

You people get more than one in the same account!?

Needless to say; I've got nothing.

Something to do with account settings maybe.

And yes I have had duplicates of all promotional vouchers, every single time without fail, in the same account. Two of everything.

How... equitable.

EDIT: Sorry, that was a bit mean. Bad day.

Very fortunate for you... it does seem strange though?

Another day another daft RSH voucher offer. The instructions say enter the code at checkout - there is nowhere to enter that code at checkout. The link takes you to a page to fill in and insert the code to generate an e-voucher but even trying at 10am this morning you just get a message telling you there are no vouchers.

These RSH offers are usually a waste of time. I've bought several newspapers specifically for the vouchers and tried codes from them and various other sources with no success ever.

RSH is good at spewing these vouchers that never work or run out very quickly, so I don't buy tickets from them.

No they're not. I must have had close to £100 in vouchers from them over time, maybe more.

What for when the codes are usually announced on here?

I've tried with 7 or 8 of these voucher giveaways now and I've only ever gotten one to work! That was the MSE one where you put in your email and it gave you the code there and then.

And when people are like 'oh, I have five vouchers in my multiple accounts' - well I made more accounts to try and get even one voucher! No such luck!

Thankfully, I've never bought a paper (for the RSH voucher) though!

TOCs vouchers are far, far more reliable.

What TOC vouchers?

FGW and EM have been known to have promotions, usually for #5 off travel - usually only with them.

I've had a couple of EM - they're usually sent out in emails and are account specific.

Southeasten are doing 25% of travel atm as well, but the trouble with those sorts of offers is that they only apply when you're travelling exclusively with that TOC. Most of my journeys involve going up to London, using a Travelcard, and for that there is no discount. I've only had 2 journeys during this offer, and the previous invitation-only offer that I was able to take advantage of it. RSH's vouchers are valid whoever you're travelling with.

Sorry; TOC's vouchers (or perhaps TOCs') was what I meant. i.e. vouchers of, or pertaining to train companies. i.e. RTVs.

I was remarking, perhaps a tad ironically, that it is more predictable whether one will receive one such (about half the time a 'gesture of goodwill') than a RSH promotional voucher.

I've had an EMT one of which you refer though, not much use as mine was only valid on direct EMT services to/from London...
