Where did you choose for your choices?
The DMI is very relaxed, I found it was the most chilled part of the whole process.Hi guys, I've got my DMI coming up in a few days and was wondering if anyone could share some light on any of questions that get asked? Would me much appreciated. Will it be different from the MMI questions we filled out on our pre-interview form sheet? I've filled out a personality questionnaire also, which apparently forms the basis of the questions they ask in the DMI
Thank you so much! That's so helpful. Are the "what would you do" questions specifically train driver related scenarios? The DMI is very relaxed, I found it was the most chilled part of the whole process.
It's mostly them explaining to you the job, the shifts and the training, focusing on what they expect of you, ie in driving school you must be there every day etc. And they also will get to know you aswell, ask you why you want to do this job etc its realy them seeing if you are the right kind of person for the role.
They WILL ask you questions, firstly what you know about the company, so do a little research on routes they serve etc but I dont think this question is too depp. They will then ask you a few "what would you do" questions, so they will ask you a few question about a fictional scenario and ask what you would do in this scenario or they may ask you what "tell me a time when" you did something etc. So my advise would be focus on safety and than punctuality. It's a safety critical job so they take safety over speed.
Other than that just be chill with this one, ask any questions you want to , they may even give you the depots that are open to you aswell so they may ask what you'd prefer depot wise...
Hopefully this helps

No worries, I dont think they were specifically train related.Thank you so much! That's so helpful. Are the "what would you do" questions specifically train driver related scenarios?
Also for the MMI, do you know what kind of follow up questions they throw in?
Do you remember what kind of "what would you do" questions were asked in the DMI? As the for MMI - I filled out pre forms so I have an idea about the questions they ask. I guess I'm just more concerned about the follow up probing questions they ask on top of this....honestly, thanks again for this!No worries, I dont think they were specifically train related.
the MMI questions are on this website somewhere and I sure I have them written down, drop me a messege and il find them... i did my MMI in Oct time and these questions i got off here were bang on, so assuming they have not changed them they will be correct. Unless you have already done you pre mmi forms which would have the questions on it?
The forms you fill out are exactly what they ask, I remember now I only got them as I waited so long I forgot what they were specifically I wanted to practice them.Do you remember what kind of "what would you do" questions were asked in the DMI? That's good news. When is your course date and medical? Finally got offered a start date pending medical. Unfortunately it’s for Brighton because apparently Barnham is full now but happy to get my foot in the door
Okay so since my post I’ve now been squeezed in at Barnham haha. Medical is on October 1st, start date is October 13th. Just sorting out the DBS form now but I’m gonna need to ask someone about the 5 years of address address history as I can’t actually fit all my addresses on the formThat's good news. Hi Lois. The codes on there all begin with the number of the size. Eg if the code starts with 12 it will be a size 12. Same with the skirts, they have the sizes then numbers 23-27 which is the length which you can choose.Hey guys, trying to order uniform for GTR and the trouser sizes are totally throwing me off, they just look like a bunch of numbers to mecan anyone help a girl out hahah!

I’ll have another look at the sizing, I know that some said UH (unfinished hem) but I’ll just look at the ones without that. I’ve gotta wait for someone to change my role on there from Great Northern to Southern anyway haha, don’t know how they’ve managed that! You will get an email from a seperate company about footware it will be sent to your work email (which you will get acccess to on induction day) I believe they are called tower footware or something. There you can select your style. Driver just need to make sure they are S3 steel toe cap. You will have time to order as you wont NEED boots until you do your first trackside walk in PTS which is in like week 2 or 3.I too have just ordered my uniform but there has been no mention of boots.. do we order these ourselves?
Yeah my uniform ordering email said the boots will be from a separate companyI too have just ordered my uniform but there has been no mention of boots.. do we order these ourselves?
