They said earlier that there was a broken rail and they were waiting for someone to turn up to sort it out but as (some) services seemed to be still running, I'm not sure how broken it actually was.

Nevertheless, on the whole the Valley Lines seem to be quite a lot more reliable at present than they were not so long ago

Another incident today, departure boards said “broken rails in Penarth area” Given this is the second time in 10 days, maybe a track replacement on the Penarth line is needed?
