Sockets on Sleepers

Anybody know if the SEATED sleepers (FSR + FGW) have power sockets available?

Not on the ScotRail coaches (or in the lounge or the sleeping cars) the last time I travelled a couple of years ago. However, especially if you're travelling in the beds, a polite word with the lounge car attendant may get your phone charged in the kitchen!

ScotRail have sockets in the Lounge car (by the sofas). Sorry, I've not travelled on the seated so don't know.

These were disconnected during the summer of 2009, I only managed to find one that was working and on my next trip in the same coach it too had been disconnected

When travelling on sleepers with my laptop I tend to carry a spare fully charged battery

I went up to Fort William in December and the plugs were working in the lounge car on the way up, but in the old lounge car they use on the Edinburgh - Fort William section, after the train splits, they have been disconnected.

Correct. No seated passengers allowed to use the lounge car, (rigorously enforced too, I may add).

Even standard class sleeper passengers have to give priority to 1st Class sleeper passengers, which I suppose is fair enough though.

If you can get in there you will find sockets in between the sofas that do work, even North of Edinburgh. Many times I've came from Inverness and had my laptop charging next to me. However, a possible "tip" available to everyone is to get a shaver adapter, and use the shaving socket in the toilets onboard, if you're desperate.

I glad I wasn't imagining that they were still working last month. I was beginning to think I had the computer plugged in but it had more battery life then I expected!

When I mentioned north of Edinburgh, I was only refering to the old unrefurbished lounge car they use sometimes on the Edinburgh to Fort William portion, the one that is added/removed at Edinburgh when the train splits in the early hours. The sockets in that lounge car do not work, but the sockets in the refurbished lounge cars do work.

I travelled on quite a few busy southbound services and although the Lounge Car was busy no effort was made to give priority to First Class ticket holders
I only travelled on one northbound service, advising I would be going to the Lounge Car but was told, "It's too busy, you'd be better staying here and I will go and get your order"
I allowed an hour, and managed to get one seat (the only one at that time), but by Crewe I had the Lounge Car to myself
