Facebook, yes but on there hardly ever.
Twitter, oh yes.
Smartphone, yep.
Anything else, no just here.
No Kindle, but I have a tablet.

I refused to get a smartphone for years, then succumbed now I'd be lost without it. I dread to think what I'd have missed over the years without it!

I don't use social media at all, it's never something that's really interested me despite the numerous attempts from my girlfriend and relatives to get me to sign up to Twitter, Facebook, etc. I like to keep my name away from the internet as much as possible, and so far I've managed to succeed in doing so.

If I want to get in touch with somebody, I'll text or phone them.

I do have a smartphone and love it. I use Snapchat, LinkedIn, Whatsapp and Spotify if that counts.

Unusually, for someone my age I deleted Facebook in the Autumn, and I'm much happier for it. I got sick of endless photo's of cats, babies, vacuous posts and people posing on gap years. It's also people presenting a very sanitised and idealised version of their life, which is very obviously fake, yet still led me to question whether I've made the right choices in life despite the fact I have a pretty good and interesting life. I also think it made me lose sight of what's important somewhat, ie myself and not everyone else. I appreciate the above may sound selfish but I'm much happier for my decision. All the important people in my life have my phone number. Also, Facebook went downhill for me when older relatives started using it. It was useful for keeping in touch with uni friends and when I lived away from home, but it started causing unnecessary conflict within my family too.

I did also formerly use twitter, but I found the amount of information difficult to keep up with and remain 'current,' I also realised just how much time I was wasting consuming fairly pointless information in a given day.

I am here and on some other rail forums / discussion groups, but I am not on what the general public might regard as social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).

At the moment, I don't even have a mobile phone (hardly anyone left that I might want to phone, and I don't want to provide another route for call centres peddling unwanted trash. )

Don't have a Kindle - don't have time to read fiction.

I'm a little behind at the moment and while I was catching up on my Daily Telegraph pile today I noticed an article from last Saturday

A magnificent effort at using social media usefully is shown in the case of two moronic brothers from Accrington who were up in front of Judge Beverley Lunt on charges of drug dealing

After Judge Lunt had used up her supply of niceness by letting them off with suspended sentences they used facebook to post the following ;

"Cannot believe my luck 2 year suspended sentence [sic] ... Beverly [sic] Lunt go suck my ***"

"Up ur **** aha nice 2 year suspended..."

The defendants were recalled for a sentence review when the comments were relayed to Judge Lunt who promptly changed the sentences to two years jail

The defence for one of the brothers told the court that they had become "national, if not international, figures of ridicule"

Good on you Daniel and Samuel Sledden, what a boon to society you'll both be when you get out

All other sundry programs for the distribution of photographs - no. I have a decentish small camera and I sometimes bother to upload selected photos onto FB.

I do watch rail related Youtube via the telly sometimes though its far better than the bilge/propaganda served up by the media, if you're selective enough. You can find a lot of old music on there too. Which is nice.

In short then I'm on the book of Farces and a few doubious foria, like this one, most of which I just read and do not post to very often.

I'm determined not to become part of the zombie nation gawping insanely into thier phones all the damn time.
To be honest, I'd sooner sit in a pub or on a train and chatter. What do they call it now? "face time" or summat. pfffffttt.

My social media? RailUK. I'm not on anything else and don't plan to be. Smart phone? Nope! Kindle? My mum has a basic one that I occasionally (but rarely) use. Other than that, no.

I'm on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Facebook is quite useful for keeping up to date with friends and Messenger but I rarely post anything, most of my photos go on Instagram instead because quite frankly I'd rather look at endless doctored photos than much of the crap on Facebook or Twitter.

Twitter I only use when I want to contact a company about something.

Kindle - no - can you read them with the sun out yet?

You have always been able to read the Kindle e-readers in sunlight. They don't use backlit screens like a smartphone, they use an e-ink display: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E_Ink

I have to say that as someone who works away from home the majority of the time, my Kindle is the first thing that goes in my bag; I like not having to lug books around.

I find Facebook a really easy way to stay in touch with loads of people living across the globe, share photos with them, tell them I am alive etc. Ha ha. I get why people don't like it though.

Blooming heck, I thought it was just us middle aged people who remember MSN messenger & I still have my Hotmail account from way back in the late 1990s.
I did learn MS DOS way back when I left school and did YTS office skills.
I <allegedly> do have both a Facebook & Twitter account but I have found both of them, unpleasant places to be honest. Good for information but now, I feel Facebook is just a pushy salesman telling me what I should want, or how to think. NO way. lol. I had a MySpace account years ago. I do have Skype, WhatsApp, and Hangouts if I am in touch with someone who uses that.
I have a landline telephone, can still write letters. I do not use short message speak at all. I just do not want to be a saddo, middle aged git trying to ape the young lads. Sorry.
