So, you're thinking of voting BNP because they're just misunderstood?

Is it likely that a practising Muslim in Plymouth is going to know the identity of someone in Maidstone who may be planning to commit an atrocity?

Probably not, but his/her Islamic associates in Maidstone may well have a good idea, especially if they worship at the same mosque, unless of course he is the only attendee at the local mosque.

The point about Northern Ireland (on both sides, not just the Catholics) uis that it is a relatively small community. Your point should really be that all Catholics in Britain knew who the members of these groups were, as it seems that you are saying that Muslims generally will be well aware of who the terrorists are in their religion.

Firstly, just to clarify, i fully acknowledge that the troubles in NI were perpetrated from both sides, not just the Catholic side. In fact, when troops were first deployed there, it was (If i remember rightly, do correct me if i'm wrong) with the intention of protecting the Catholic communities from the Loyalists.
Secondly, My point i not that every Catholic, Muslim or whatever, in Britain should know the identities of extremists in their midst, that's just a ridiculous idea, but these extremists don't worship alone, and it would be reasonable to assume that they learn their extremism from somewhere, be it Al-Jazera TV or Finsbury Park Mosque, and that they discuss these ideas with their fellows, and also try to recruit others to their cause.

Well, concerns about immigration have been around for centuries! What I mean is that the specific economic concerns about over population and the finite resources of the earth are more recent. There have always been people who shout 'send them back' and there probably always will, but more people are concerned now about how do we allocate resources, and not just in a British context either.

True, but the time period i'm referring to, ie at least ten years ago, the topics discussed were not immigration in general, but the sudden increase in so called "Asylum seekers", concerns about which have been continuing to this day.

Even illegal immigrants spend money here!

Seeing as "Illegal" immigrants are not entitled to work here, then that money would presumably be benefits of some description, or even the proceeds of criminal activity. Either way it's likely to be British money that was already in the economy.

The world of immigration is also a revolving door, which is something the BNP don't seem to realise. The idea of immigrants sending money out of the country weakening the economy is as ludicrous as suggesting that people going on holiday and spending money abroad weakens the economy.
Like I said previously, its a matter who the people are thats coming through that revolving door in exchange. You may be quite surprised to see what how much the UK economy is drained through money going out the country.
As for holiday spending money weakening the economy, that to me is irrelevant.

Those emigrating from the UK will be individuals that carry professional/business/technical/medical qualifications that will be of benefit to the country they emigrate too.
They will not be relying on state benefits and medical/housing/education assistance as the many current unskilled waifs and straifs/asylum seekers/gypsies recieve from a percentage of our hard earned taxes when they arrive in the UK.
Really? Tell that to the many Irish rural communities that have had convoys of British crusties, hippies and new-age travellers turning up on their doorstep to take advantage of their benefit system.

You originally wrote 'Are you denying that the Islamic community is close? Are you denying that members of that community know who the extremists are? The point has already been made that large numbers of the Irish Catholic communities knew the identities of PIRA/INLA terrorists but remained silent. Could the same not be the case here?'. Note the words 'large numbers'! So how many Muslims do you now claim know who the extremists are? And in any case, having extreme views by one person's definition is not necessarily a crime, not does it mean that a person is going to go and commit some atrocities. It's a bit like drugs really. Drug users and drug dealers are well known toe ach other, much of the local community may suspect they know who these people are, but without any proof, what can be done?

You are quite right about the Catholics in Northern Ireland. British troops were intiially welcomed as protecting the Catholic communities agains tthe violence and discrimination perpetrated on them by loyalists. The fact that the violence and persecution contineud drove some Catholics into supporting the Provisional IRA, who proclaimed themselves the traditional defenders of the Catholics, thus adding a religious aspect to what had always, for the old IRA, been a political and non religious objective, the removal of British rule.

As to illegal immigrants, well, of course they are not SUPPOSED to work here, but they do. So do people on tourist visas, student visas etc. Brits also do the same when they go abroad! Unless you stop all visitors it will continue, and in all countries. Personally, i like the freedom to travel abroad, and to retain this we need to offer the same facilities for people to visit this country.

Like I said previously, its a matter who the people are thats coming through that revolving door in exchange. You may be quite surprised to see what how much the UK economy is drained through money going out the country.

Is it irelevant because it doesn't suit your views or arguments? Do you have any sources or evidence as to how much is beign drained out of the country? Can you compare that with the money spent abroad by holidaymakers every year? Sorry, but declaring things to be irrelevant and posting your beliefs without backing them up does not advance the debate!

How did you work that one out then?
Illegal immigrants cannot claim benefits, by attempting to do so, it would show up that they're not supposed to be here.

Illegal immigrants generally work cash in hand, mostly doing jobs British people turn up their noses at.
Yes, some turn to crime, it's inevitable, there are criminals in all walks of life.

True, but they can claim crisis loans, which amount to exactly what they would get in benefits...same money, different name!

Crisis loans are given to people if there is immediate danger to yo or your families health and safety. If someone claims it, they really need it, and they are not given without question.

There is also no one amount of crisis loans. What you get depends on individual circumstances, savings and whether or not you have claimed before. So to say it is the same as benefits is not wrong, it is an outright lie.

When you get the loan, you have to give a repayment plan to the JobCentre and you have to pay it back.

Since the money is paid into a bank account only there is no way an illegal immigrant could get one.
