Was at Luton Airport Parkway this morning and the information system was buggered, on the bright side the first HST from Sheffield ran to time so I got to London just fine.

Not far off half a foot of the white stuff down here - oh and the whole TfL bus network is suspended! They had 3 or 4 days to prepare for the snow! *facepalm*

There's a nice flurry in Glasgow, but it's not that thick. Apparently there's an inch in Summerston, but I don't believe that. But it is much thicker out in the East End apparently and Linwood/Paisley (Just to the west of Glasgow) aren't getting any at the moment.

Thornliebank is nice and white this morning apparently. No gauge on thickness though I'm afraid.

Well for it go really dark, there needs to be sufficient cloud cover, it also depends on where you are in relation to that cloud cover, and lightning strikes when it wants to, there is no build up of darkness for it strike.

Had snow today. Got to school and then got to come home again, although had to leave at 11am so i could get a bus home. If it were a normal day, I'd be on my way home now

Yeah same here and its still snowing hard :D Though I think Network Rail could off acted quickly they knew what was coming and could of done something about it. If this was back in the old days they would still be running trains :oops:

There is no backup plan for staff not being able to get to work, nor for 3rd rails under 6 inches of snow.

The last time we had snow like this, I was only three years of age...And with my overprotective parents not willing to let me out of the house at the time (Worried about me catching a cold, like any overbearing parents. :roll:) today was the first chance in my life to build a snowman. Not bad for a first ever attempt, if I do say so myself! <D

It Was snowing in Seaforth all night last night which was very surprising indeed allmost gone now thogh.

I said 4 - 5 inches today in Kingston, altho SWT is mucked up - had a pair of 458s on a rounder, 450s and 455s what next a 444? :|

Not funny, its meant to snow again tonight - so hopefally it will be snow and not ice seeing as I have the day off tomorrow too.

A few 73s have been out today, mainly on de-icing duties though. 73201 top and tailing a NR GLV with 73208 and snowplough fitted 73212 with another NR GLV. There may have been others.

Most of the disruption on the trains is due to some staff not being able to get to work - in their cars, apparently. No wonder London fell apart, nobody can afford to live there!

Just got back from the British Energy v Network Rail snow fight, which was funny as hell, apart from BE wouldnt emerge from their building! So we spent an hour terrorising them, and then they called the Military Police on us, and an exciting chase ensued.

Baring in mind there was over 100 of us and less than 50 of them, it was pretty funny!
