Here we are, just to prove it's not me on my own who do them. Here's a fine selection of 'the regulars' (just missing one or 2 actually then it's complete!).

LOL every time I've got one of the Cardiff-Taunton/Paignton's I've seen some of those characters on the train - the guy on the far left, and the guy third from the left. Whilst I'm not able to travel very regularly on those services now(due to working), when I used to go on them a bit more regularly(as often as once every week or two) they were on them too. It's as though they go on them every day! How do they afford it?

Regarding the Class 67's and the old carriages. I certainly like them. The 67's are great locos. Even though they're no more than 11 years old, but by travelling in those old mk2 carriages it feels like you're travelling on a train back in the 1980's/1990's. Love the fact they're in the old BR blue/grey livery too. Great stuff.

Are the Class 67's on the Cardiff-Taunton's expected to last into and beyond the Winter 2010 timetable?

What about minimal mileage behind a Skip? Can anyone get lower than my 0.98 on 67024 (and it was between two stations!)?

0.78 on 67006 between Castleton South Jn - Hopwood GF.

Far left is on BR Boxes and therefore has Priv (and as old as a fossil so not at work!). Other one I dunno how, but is always on a rover.

You mean it finished several months ago?

I won't be able to do the last Paignton turn after all, I'll be lucky if I can afford life's essentials by that date, let alone going on the bash!

Thought the date for the end of the Taunton turns was a bit early! We'll see what happens, there's well over a month until that date yet. Goodness knows what the plan will be in a month's time!

Good to hear folks about Friday 1st been the last day of Paigntons.

Booked flights over to Bristol for it but then read on Taunton Trains that "as of 1st of October, this service reverts to unit", so was in a bit of a heap as thought the unit operation started on a Friday! Though thought it strange that they would end the loco hauled on a Thursday.

As for October 29th been "final" Taunton day, I'll be over that day irrespective as a day on the 67s ties in nicely with the Spitfire 37s the following day

Never ever stray further than the Great Western or Prince of Wales in Cardiff. A) Due to time allowances and B) Due to now knowing where else is 'safe*' on a Friday evening.

there is nothing wrong with a bit of a skip bash. its loco haulage at least and whilst on the Cardiff taunton Diagrams EWS drivers do stretch there legs and give them a good run. the only downside they can be tooooooooooo reliable. look at 16 and 17 down this way and now we have the new 16 and 17 with 19 and 20 lets see how much mileage I accumulate on them. although I like a skip bash I do prefer a 47 or 57 (sorry) as these are what i know from when I was younger oh and the class 43

The end of the Paigntons has ballsed up a loco-haulage fest that I'd worked out and planned to do sometime next year.

It was Shipley > Leeds > Manchester > Wrexham via a series of units. Then WSMR on £10 advance to Marylebone. Then mess about in London for a bit on a Travelcard getting a few moves in. On the cushions the whole way on the Night Riviera on a cheap advance ticket. Then on a Sail Rail Penzance > Dublin using a HST as far as Newton Abbot, the 67 move to Newport where it connects nicely with the 57 to Holyhead.

Will probably still do it, but if it's going to be a unit (what sort BTW?), I'll stay with the HST to Taunton instead.
